I visited this restaurant on a business trip. I dined alone. This is really a great grill resaturant. I had the steak (400gr). It was baked to excellence, the meat was very very tender. As a free starter I was offered a garlic soup, nothing wrong with it.compliments to the chef, I will be back !

Afspanning De Swaen in 's-Gravenvoeren (Voeren) already served as a resting place for horse and rider midway through the stagecoach route between Liege and Aachen in the 16th century. Now is the perfect place to enjoy a drink or a meal on the terrace, in
Set in an 18th-century house and courtyard, De Swaen offers local specialities such as trout and cheeses from the region, commonly called the Voerstreek. Yet the real attraction is the cosy atmosphere and extensive beer list, which offers a number of Belgian beers including trappists. Don't miss the Grimbergen Blond, which I understand is not available in the United States. It's a great place to stop to rest if you've been hiking or bicycling in the region. About at 45 minute bicycle ride from Maastricht, Netherlands.

Our first visit to the establishment and we ordered two drinks that came to â¬5.95 but we only had â¬5 on us. The manager smiled and let us pay what we had. We knew this was a place we had to return to so the next evening we had dinner and drinks and enjoyed it so much we came the next evening again. They donât take credit cards here so bring cash or debit card. But come hungry and come thirsty. The menu is classic for the region and everything was generous and hearty.

Sitting outside and with a nice view over the main street and the church, this was a great place to eat.We had been recommended to eat at the 'proper' restaurant down the road, but found their garden/courtyard a bit pokey and decided to walk on.Instead, we risked going for the 'eetcafe' - mainly because of its setting and the nice view.We weren't disappointed and enjoyed the food (and the beers). The atmosphere was very informal and service friendly (after a while). The emphasis inside seemed to be more on the drinks (a pub), but the terrace was busy with diners. The chef managed to turn out some good food that was well presented and very enjoyable. The local trout (from the River Geul, allegedly) was nicely prepared. Generous portion sizes also helped.... ;-)The view of the main road turned out to be a bonus, as there was an eclectic mix of farm vehicles, buses, local big-wigs, dog walkers and yokels, which made for a much more interesting place to dine than in a smokey courtyard down a little alley.

We were here for a brief stop to get some coffee. We were served well , music is good and the couple who served were very friendly. Excellent place for a stopover or a beer

We have dined twice at this very cute restaurant, and both times to complete satisfaction! It's a little hidden gem in the south of Limburg... the setting is very rustic and the food absolutely good!Especially love the serving of the soup - very homey in a large soup bowl, which actually serves 2 at a very good price!Don't expect anything fancy in terms of setting or service, but if you are in for a good meal in a no-nonsense setting, this is definitely the place to be!Would love to come back and surely recommend to anyone visiting south Limburg- near Maastricht.

We really enjoy this restaurant and we go there regularly. The food is really good but the only problem sometimes, is that it can be quite noisy. It really depends on which table you are. Anyway, I definitely recommend this restaurant, but don't forget to reserve in advance. As it isn't big, it might be difficult to get a table on the last minute.

We stopped there for lunch halfway through a beautiful hike between Fourons le Compte and Noorbeek. We chose the blood pudding croquettes and the Stilton salad for the main courses and the gourmand coffee and a dame blanche for dessert. They were all very tasty with obviously fresh ingredients and nicely presented. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere inside very old Dutch. We loved it.We paid 55 eur for both of us including two beers : very reasonable taking account of the quality.

This is a nice and cozy place with very friendly staff and service. There is a beautiful long table, which supports conversation. We had bread with smoked salmon and monkey pancakes which was both pretty tasty. There is a "all day breakfast" offer. We were there with our < 1 year child and could use a high chair. There was also enough space for our buggy.Danke sehr!
