Jax Hamburgers

We stop for lunch on the way to Houston after reading the good reviews. We followed the advice of others and got the guacamole burger with jalapeño bun and it was delicious. The bun is not spicy hot like you might think, had more of a sweet taste. The onion rings are fresh made with a flour batter (not corn meal like those frozen type). I was surprised that in the back part they have a cozy bar with a large (very large) select of beers on tap ( see photos), these service the restaurant.
If you like to try local Burger places like I do, this should be on your "worth a stop" list if you are in the area. Note: the photo that shows the prices on the chalk board shows 2 prices next to each burger, one is for the 1/3lb and the other is for the1/2lb.
Also, I make guacamole at home myself and this is really good guacamole. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

I thought I'd try this place for lunch one day with my husband. The cold sandwich was just average, but the hot sandwich was not good at all. Lesson learned.

This new little ice cream shop is wonderful! All of their ice cream and frozen treats are home-made. I haven't tried a flavor yet that I didn't like, but my two favorites are the cookies & cream and coconut. Family owned and operated and open long hours.

We've eaten here several times now and always enjoy it. The service is prompt and efficient and the food is good. We ordered cheese enchiladas, fajita tacos and tacos al carbon and all were delicious. Free soft serve ice cream on the way out. The atmosphere is like a small family owned restaurant. We will visit again.

Riverside Seafood

We happened on this restaurant due to the interstate being shut down today. On Highway 90 in Liberty, Texas we saw this older looking seafood restaurant and decided it was worth a try. Very nice workers and locally owned. Grilled or fried seafood and very good gumbo, all at a fair price. The sides are very good also. We each ordered a dinner and brought leftovers home. If traveling between Beaumont and Houston Texas it is worth using highway 9th just to stop for a meal at this restaurant. Definitely a place where the locals eat.

Stopped in when I was looking for property in the area and enjoyed the grilled catfish special with sides, etc. Good meal at a great price. Service was good and everyone is very friendly. We were told breakfast can be crazy. Will have to try breakfast some time.

Novrozsky's

Reviewed By Porcophile - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

This is part of an East Texas chain, founded in Beaumont. The menu is extensive and varied, but what we had -- and recommend -- are the burgers. They're made fresh with good meat, lettuce, tomato, and dressing, and they're huge. The classic cheeseburger is plenty, but there are double- and triple-size ones available, as well as additions like bacon and (intriguing) peanut butter. We had a "small" order of onion rings and the two of us ate only half of them. The place was full of locals at lunchtime, and they clearly know what they're doing. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. (Be warned that this is not "fast food." It's cooked to order and takes a while when the place is busy.)

I alway enjoy going to this restaurant. Wait staff & owner welcome you. I usually always order the same thing at most Mexican restaurants and they remember what I usually order.
They have the usual vareity of Mexican food dishes. A separate bar section which you can eat in. The meal I order is always fresh and tastes great. Others at the table ordered the more traditional enchiladas dishes and they were pleased with their meals.
