Lenox Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Lenox

April 14, 2018 Natalie Tallman

It seems like every time of year is "in season" in Lenox, a small Berkshire town that has been a popular retreat since the 19th century. In summer, picnic on the lawn at Tanglewood, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer home. In fall, when foliage peaks, take to the hiking and biking paths of the Pleasant Valley Sanctuary to immerse yourself in the vibrant colors of the mountains. Winter visitors enjoy skiing at a number of resorts and cross-country trails, and in spring, hikers and golfers practice their pastimes in splendid settings. Rejuvenating treatments and pampering, at the well-known Cranwell Spa, are favored all year long.

Great hot chocolate and biscotti. A comfortable and inviting seating area. Many people were buying the gelato which is apparently quite good.

My friend and I had lunch and a very good glass of wine while passing through Lenox recently. The food was excellent and nicely presented. Also appreciated the help with a wine - I told the waiter my tastes and his selection was spot on!

Patisserie Lenox

Reviewed By platpeeps - Birmingham, United Kingdom

Stopped off here on a very wet afternoon during a self-drive holiday around New England. We were desperately in need of a break from driving and a coffee. Staff were so friendly, the coffee and hot chocolate were great and it was very difficult to resist the display of wonderful patisserie .... The store wasn't particularly busy when we arrived, but then we were entertained by the very strange family group who came in after us! Highly recommended, and a great place for a stop-off. Lenox is a lovely town!

Lenox Coffee

Local roasted, delicious coffee, this little coffee shop has a loya following. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it quickly fills up, with folks with newspapers and laptops. There was even what appeared to be a college board tutorial going on. Warm and friendly, the atmosphere was multi-generational and comfortable.

Nudel Restaurant

Reviewed By JMSBoston - Boston, MA

I brought a group of 19 friends and family to Nudel over MLK weekend. We took over the entire restaurant on a Sunday evening. From the first bite (an assortment of delicious spreads) to the last (an astonishingly good pana cotta) this meal was fantastic. Local ingredients. Great flavors. Gracious service. Terrific wine and local beer.

Quite frankly, it was one of the absolute best meals I’ve had in ages.

The Scoop

The Scoop sweets cafe is in the heart of Lenox and has been in its location on Church Street since 2011. A specialty ice cream and candy shop, we make our own ice cream on the premises called Blondie's Homemade. We also offer coffee drinks made with No. 6 Depot coffee and daily fresh baked goodies. Flavors rotate seasonally, but there is always sweet creamy deliciousness to appeal for every customer's sweet urge. Closed for winter Nov-March.

The Scoop is a cute little ice cream shop in Lenox. There were so many flavors to choose from and of course while deciding you were able to taste test to be sure you would like the flavor you chose. Delicious homemade ice cream, but a little over priced (after all you are in Lenox). Worth it as a special treat after watching a play.

Brava

Reviewed By Ashley D - Niskayuna, New York

There were no tables available when my husband and I stepped inside, so we sat at the bar for dinner. Glad we did, because everyone behind the bar was wonderful and we loved chatting with them.

We shared some tapas, all of which were delicious. The caramelized onion, bacon and creme fresh pizza was stellar. Crust itself was really very good, let alone all the amazingness on top of it. We also really enjoyed the white bean hummus and olive tapenade bruschetta -- it had some really great Indian-esque spices going on that we were not expecting but were very pleasantly surprised by. Brussels sprouts are a must-order for me, and these did not disappoint -- the bits of melted cheese with the saltiness of the bacon were little flavor missiles. Finally, we munched on some super-addictive spicy fried chickpeas -- holy moly I threw those back like popcorn. Could snack on those every day.

Superb menu of wines by the glass and beers -- beer lovers especially should be happy here.

Wish we lived closer because we'd be regulars.

Bistro Zinc

Reviewed By jcraneny - Orlando, Florida

I was in Lenox on a business trip and stopped at Zinc for a Monday lunch. When traveling alone, I prefer to sit at the bar, and this day was no exception. The Bar is secluded from the main dining room. Excellent wi-if. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had mussels and frites with a glass of House white and it was delicious. The person sitting next to me had the lunch special which was a chicken pot pie-the perfect lunch for a snowy winter day (but I would have needed a nap).

I highly recommend Zinc.
