I sit down and see a bug crawling on the wall next to me. I am then served tea with a squished bug on the cup. I then notice a cigarette burn hole in the table cloth. I decide to cut back on my order and order just pumpkin soup. Mediocre at best. No pepper or salt either on the table or on offer to enhance the taste. Menu looks delicious but it’s just a facade for tourists. It’s expensive for what it is with dishes around 100k dong. Avoid!

Stopped here for lunch based on reviews. I was looking for Vietnamese food.
A pretty extensive menu with numerous breakfast choices, Western selections, and local food. I am always amused by reviews of an Asian restaurant that fault them for their shortcomings in providing a great hamburger and fries, but I digress.
After consulting the owner (?) about several options and being assured that the fish on offer was fresh from Nha Trang that morning (sometimes you gotta believe), I chose the fish in a clay pot with caramelized fish sauce. It was delicious! Spicy (not indicated on the menu), slightly sweet white fish pieces coated, fried, and baked with a few vegetables for flavor. Perfectly cooked and nary a bone! I wish I could go back for more!
The owner had an exceptionally good command of English. But service was very slow and it was hard to find an employee to get another beer, the bill. But given the food, this was forgivable. Would have given a “5” had service been more attentive and menu warned that the fish is quite spicy.

This was the best meal we had in Vietnam and was very affordable and well priced.
The DIY fresh Spring rolls were great and the coconut chicken curry and veggie/tofu coconut curry were amazing. They were the dish that never ended. Amazing portions and so fresh, full of flavour, spices - just divine.
Was sad I didn't have more time to eat there again.
Would recommend to everyone visiting Dalat.
Great veggie options also.

Duong Len Trang (Cafe Tram Mai)

The "Way to the Moon" coffee house, located at 57 Phan Boi Chau St. in the highland resort city of Dalat, is built by the side of the highest hills in the city. Outside, it is a five-story house like all the town nearby, but inside it is a completely different world. Entering the bamboo-shaped gate made of concrete and cement, visitors feel as if the are in another world, a systemn of mystic caves with small winding paths, lianas, secular trees, all are made with concrete and cement but are har-moniously designed to create the single impression of a natural cave in the jungle. It's definetely a place for those who love adventures, stand out places.

This was so cool. Just an endless maze of caves and fun.
Cheap drinks. Local beer/wine. No problem there
The attraction of this venue is the interior. Kind of a mini crazy house.
Weird carvings on the walls, dark corners, winding staircases. Lots of alcoves to sit in. Was just so so much fun.
Really you need to check this place out

If you are looking for a touch of back home western style cafe in the middle of Dalat, this is your place. We had breakfast there every day and could not really fault the food. Eggs were always poached perfectly, fruits were fresh and sweet, coffee was great. The granola with yoghurt and fruit was also a winner. Lorelle the owner (expat Australian) was very welcoming, great conversationalist and offered helpful tips to seeing Dalat and Vietnam. We thoroughly enjoyed our mornings at One More Cafe, thanks Lorelle and team.

Ordered a carbonara, receiverd a black pepper version. Juice was perfect. Music playing in a restaurant was a mix of dubstep, guetta and trance. The Italian link was missing.. staff was bored, 5 people playing with their mobile phone Although thats quite common in Vietnamese restaurant. Too bad that they cant do two things at a time. Playing with your mobile and playing attention to customers... I dont think this restaurant is worth being named in the lonely planet

We stopped here on the way home from a coffee farm visit. We had great coffee and vegetarian tasty grilled lunch. We had plenty of time to wait for the food, which we assume was going under the category excellent slow food. And enjoying the cool authentic atmosphere surrounding the place. Also you can order a one day coffee tour, experiencing how to grow coffee, up to making your own cup of coffee. Brilliant idea here as the have so much knowledge about coffee farming. Must recommend this place. If you like coffee - even better.
