Pietermaritzburg (/ˌpiːtərˈmærɪtsbɜːrɡ/; Zulu: umGungundlovu) is the capital and second-largest city in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It was founded in 1838 and is currently governed by the Msunduzi Local Municipality. Its Zulu name umGungundlovu is the name used for the district municipality. Pietermaritzburg is popularly called Maritzburg in English and Zulu alike, and often informally abbreviated to PMB. It is a regionally important industrial hub, producing aluminium, timber and dairy products, as well as the main economic hub of Umgungundlovu District Municipality. It had a population of 228,549 in 1991; the current population is estimated at over 600,000 residents (including neighbouring townships) and has one of the largest populations of Indian South Africans in South Africa.

My husband and I recently had dinner at RJs. The service was fantastic! Very friendly staff. Tuesday is ladies night so a free juice and specials on some meals, very affordable! The ribs however were very fatty and the chicken wings very bland.. but the service made up for it!

This restaurant so far is my most favorite personally. I have been to multiple franchises of Spur and my experience has never changed.I find this Customer service to be much more better than the other famous restaurants, they always check how we are doing and maintain a reputable and outstanding service. The only good thing we found at this Spur was the Play Canyon. The attendants were super with the kids and really made an effort to keep the kids occupied and happy.There is not much to say about the restaurant its self as the waitress was slow and no attentive and the food was average.Dear NJC112,Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. When a trip to one of our favourite restaurantes turned into a disaster due to them having problems with their gas equipment, Jays was a pleasant alternative. When we arrived we were seated right away and given menu's. Being a Wednessday, their ribs were on special, so both my wife and I decided on having the ribs. It was offered with a choice of chips or vegetables, and since we are on a low carb diet, we both chose the vegetables to be served with our ribs. Our son chose a combo, with calamari and ribs, served with french fries. As my wife and I were quite hungry, not having eaten much after breakfast that day, we ordered a garlic bread for as starter, and it was served within a few minutes from odering it. Soon afterwards, our main courses came and it was indeed very nice. Generous portions of creamed spinach, carrots and butternut accompanied our ribs, which were done to perfection, almost falling off the bone. All in all a very pleasant experience at a reasonable price.

Very wierd taste profileMinced bacon pizza had cheap bacon finely chopped on it. The base was very chewy indicating that the dough is overproved. Not how a pizza should be made. Now for the worst. The seafood pizza. It had a sugary tomatoe base with either orange marmalade or lemon marmalade on it with battered onion rings, how the onion rings are supposed to add any flavour or what its meant to add to the pizza only the chef knows. Also the base although well cooked was also very chewy. I feel that the chef is trying to turn what used to be a good coffee shop into something over pretentious. Adding herbs and flavours that make dishes to complicated, or am I missing the point?Hi Janet,We've already replied to your review on Google Business, followed up on your experience, found your receipt, discussed it among our staff and found that other than the fact our waitress who served you said you ate almost everything, made no comments whatsoever about the service / food or beverages to her or either of the two managers on the floor at the time of your visit, and according to her you gave no indication of a negative experience at the time. You paid your bill, you gave her a lovely gratuity and left under what we saw as a content customer - which is our primary focus and aim!Yet you have gone out of your way to publicly expose us as a 1 Star, poorly managed and pretentious establishment.We have been humbly serving the local community for over 4 years now, our service and attention to detail have on most occasions been well reviewed and appreciated - something I personally strive for with my staff each and every day!My concern with your review is that you never once made a comment / asked for assistance, or brought your experience to the attention of one of our managers, who would've jumped immediately in to make amends on what, according to you was an absolute disastrous experience!Now, we implore you once again as we did on your Google Review to please contact us via email at [email protected] so that we can communicate directly and personally to try understand and come to an amicable solution from your experience.Yours sincerly,
