Considering the region, where almost on every road crossing there must be a restaurant; this place is a real masterpiece of cooking art here. Usually the restaurants around offer the same stuff (I was about to write some nasty adjective there, but I didn’t ;-) ) This place is different.

We read about it, we went through their webpages and were about to visit it for a try at least. Well in the end we were there maybe four times during the week we stayed in this beautiful region.

The environment is amazing. It is just like you are on a farm, or by your grandparents and everything is okay. Outside Terrace is a place to eat, definitely. Calm, spacey enough and not on direct sun usually. Interior is rather regular – there is a smaller room with few tables and bar and there is a large room, where there are so many seats. When it’s crowded inside, it might be quite noisy. There is also a children’s play corner in the larger room. Talking about children here...I don’t know why, but every our visit, there was an infant or two sitting near us. Some of them noisy, some of the quiet as usual. But I would like to know the reason, why this place is so popular among parents with infants.

The service is superb and there is no doubt about it. They are helpful, sympathetic and still you can feel like you are welcomed and they are glad to have you there. I have no bad thought about them at all.

The food... great, tasty, just the way you like it. Their soups were also good and some of them would be really bad to miss. But I like their beef soup with the largest dumpling you have ever had in your soup. This soup should do the trick as a main meal and even as a dessert for some smaller and not so hungry people ;-) We have tried many things from their regular menu and even some daily specials. Always the food was fresh, tasty and you could not say a word against it. Schnitzel with potato salad, farmer’s potatoes with bacon and vegetable...try it, you will not regret. I think this is what makes it special in here around – the offer is made on daily basis and everyday you can have something different, but still there is the possibility of having your favourite meal as well.

After all...maybe this place is not the best restaurant on the world, but when you are around, you should try it, because you will remember the visit for some time, that’s for sure.

Однозначно рекомендую этот небольшой ресторан в Варнсдорфе - очень вкусно и недорого. Выбор пива не очень большой, но достойный. Единственный минус - посетители много курят(

I really wanted to like this micro-brewery. The beer is great and you can buy it to take home with you. But the food... Probably cooked with good intentions, but all three meals we had were very bland and without invention. I hope they get better over time, because this place has potential.

The food was great, the staff only spoke German or Czech though, so monoglots beware. I'm not sure what we ate, but it was tasty and we were delighted to see how low the prices were. I just wish I'd gotten more of their locally made beer to take home with me!

We visited the place with my boyfriend, late December, because we saw the place in a TV show, where it was highly recommended, and wanted to give it a try. The interior felt nice and cozy, the old-timer tile stove, with the burning logs cracking inside, gave the room a very comfortable and homely look. The warmth was much welcomed. We ordered tea, they even had my favourite Earl Grey, even though I had to ask for it. My boyfriend had an eggnog coffee (roasted locally) to warm up. For lunch, I ordered a chicken breast in a white wine and cream based sauce with basil, with french fries, my boyfriend ended up with a Czech classic - duck with red sauerkraut and homemade dumplings. Both dishes looked wonderful on their plates, and tasted even better. Meat was perfectly cooked, well seasoned. We knew from the TV, they chop and fry potatoes themselves, not using mass produced pre-frozen ones, and grow and use their own grown herbs, and it was noticeable. The meat portions were 150 - 200g, the most expensive dish was 200 Korun, which is a very nice price. We ended up having another hot beverage, just so we could taste the cook's homemade dessert. We were also happy with the waiter, who seemed to know just when we needed help and when we wanted a bit of privacy. We found out the place offers a B&B as well, and is available for partys etc. We would be tempted to stay a few nights in summer, for nearby hiking, but we cannot review the rooms at the moment. Overall, we had a very nice feeling about the place, and walked away almost overfed. We would definitely come back amd recommend the place to our friends.

Perfect atmosphere, nice people, excellent czech cuisine. German and English speaking staff. Very interesting surroundings. Not so comfortable or luxorious accommodation, but for normal turists perfect. A nice place for families with kids, too. We was enthused by this destination.

During our stay we visited this place twice. Feels like a local pub, sitting and eating amongst Czech families, sports on the tv and pints of pivo (lager). The food is really excellent! And when you enjoy a glass of wine you'll be surprised by the quality Otto does have in store. Fresh game, the daily special, all very Czech and prepared well. Highly recommended!

Cafe Hosana

Reviewed By Marian K - Prague, Czech Republic

I visited this café as program guest a local radio station, which was broadcasting live from the café - the equipment was in the middle of the room and, at the walls, regular café guests were sitting, watching the broadcast crew and having moderate fun. I paid all my expenses from my pocket, so no conflict of interest there.
The café looks rather stylish and is full of likeable items, such as small models of sailing ships, helmet of Captain Nemo, compasses, various obsolete gadgets etc.; some of them are actually for sale.
The staff was courteous and I liked the drink options. I had a fresh ginger tea with cinnamon and cloves. I never tasted this combination before, and it was delicious.
The prices are reasonable.
