We visited this restaurant as it is number one on here.. and it lives up to its expectation. It's a family run business, which is evident by the hospitality we received. We were greeted warmly and staff made an effort to accommodate us even though the restaurant was full when we arrived.
The starters, mains and desserts were all beautiful! I highly recommend the lamb. Make sure you order the melting chocolate ball in advance, as they run out due to high demand.
Manos the globe trotter especially went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

Just Beautiful!! In August 2017, me and my husband got married at this stunning venue and it did not disappoint. We had 46 Guest of family and friends including children and everyone was just blown away. From start to finish the whole experience was flawless thanks to Vasilis and his team.
The food was delicious and everybody commented on how amazing it was. Being a large party, we had guests that were veggie, lactose intolerance & young children, however the restaurant catered for all our needs and requirements, nothing was too much for them.
Vasilis arranged for a coach to pick all our guests up and drive them to the restaurant. Friends and family have described to me the moment they stepped off the coach as being absolutely blown away by the gorgeous views over the Kos Old Town, the Greek Islands and beyond. Everybody was taking photos & videos and enjoyed a drink in the Sunshine basking over the scenery. If you are in Kos for a holiday it is so worth a trip just to experience that moment.  We enjoyed it so much we returned a week after the wedding to watch the sun set with our last remaining guest. We enjoyed more great food & drinks and Vasilis also arranged a cake to be brought out as a surprise for one our friends who had birthday during our holiday.
If you are considering this as a wedding destination, please do not hesitate. My Husband and I had searched through sites on multiple venues, reviews and even went to travel agents. I read through bridal blogs and spoke/witnessed friends that had planned their weddings, and I can honestly say that my experience of planning our wedding was one of the most relaxing, fun and stress-free moments of my life. Vasilis provided us with an extensive list of everything you could require; Hair and make, photographer, cars, menus, flowers, music, entertainment and much more. All with multiple options enabling us to pick exactly what we wanted which suited our requirements and budget. We simply went through the list, picked what we wanted, sent it back, and they arranged the rest.  (My advice, get the fireworks. We kept this a surprise for all our guests and they loved it, it was such a special moment).
The only thing left to say is a massive thank you to the restaurant, Vasilis and all the staff for providing us with the most beautiful day of our lives. I couldn't have imagined it being any more perfect.
Love, Mr & Mrs Wales

We were fortunate enough to have made a reservation for Sunday dinner which caused the restaurant to assume we wanted to hold out two of the wonderful Sunday roast dinner plates for us. I had the traditional roast beef; my companion had roast pork. Both were excellent and accompanied with Yorkshire pudding, roast and mashed potatoes and peas with carrots. The owner is delightful. He is Greek, his wife is British, which explains the menu which includes both types of cuisines. Besides a great bar, the restaurant offers the use of sunbeds on the beach below. They even gave us a complimentary glass of ouzo as we watched the sunset on the beach.

Serif Taverna

My husband and I, both of whom come from a Greek/Mediterranean background went to Serif twice during our stay in Kos--and if you are looking for authenticity--come here!
We had a great lunch, with wonderful stuffed vegetables, fantastic eggplant (imam biladi), excellent bread, and a nice platter of mixed grilled meat--the donner kebab was especially good.
The owners are absolutely lovely people.
Since it was a night with live music, we returned that evening. We had Turkish Borek, stuffed vine leaves and courgette flowers, tzatziki...local beer and ouzo.
The music was very good--two musicians, bouzouki and guitar. They played a nice range of traditional music. There was a large family celebrating some event, and they invited us to dance with them.--we love Greece, this is an experience we have had in other parts of Greece--just fantastic.

We visited this fab restaurant twice during our one week stay in Kos recently. Abraham is a very welcoming host.. not at all over powering like some.... just right to make you feel that bit more special than usual! The food each time was fantastic! exactly what we needed ... cooked brilliantly and so tasty! We will be returning in June next year and definitely revisiting this little gem! Right on the beach too so perhaps we'll do some lunches and bathing afterwards next time and not just the evening meal! Congrats to Abraham and his wife, family and team of staff! Keep up the great work! XxX

We went to this restaurant with friends to celebrate their wedding anniversary & the evening meal was lovely. A very relaxed atmosphere where the pace of life seemed to slow down completely. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner. The drinks arrived, our dinner order taken & when it arrived every meal was great. So much so, we struggled with our Deserts! The most impressive part of all was that it was very reasonably priced. Highly recommended if you are in this part of Kos.

Ampeli

Reviewed By Allol - Worcester, United Kingdom

We were spending two weeks in Tigaki and as we had a car for a couple of days we decided to visit Ampeli, due mainly to the excellent TA reviews.
From the main area of Tigaki you would need to catch the hourly bus towards Kos (getting off at the far end of Tigaki at the bus turn-around) or get a taxi as it would be quite a walk for most people.
Arriving just after 7pm the restaurant was fairly full, but we just managed to get a table for two but had to wait around 30 minutes before someone took an order.
The restaurant itself is in a wonderful vine-covered area inside an garden in which most of their own vegetables are grown.
The menu included over 30 items of appetisers, which were big and cheap enough at Eu2.50 each to put together to form a meal in itself.
We had two of these to share as starters, plus a main course each, together with a litre carafe of a very good local wine.
The food and prices were excellent and although the service was fairly slow due to the number of people there we enjoyed our evening in these unusual settings and would certainly return again.
