We had a pizza and much needed coffee here. The pizza was really tasty and the coffee good. The place was quite busy with soldiers and there was a convivial atmosphere.
One of the staff was very helpful ,he is Lebanese and speaks good English . He gave us some good and accurate advice.
The restaurant is very clean, as are the toilets.

Restaurant Viaggio

This was the second pizza I had for the day - and I should have thought twice. though after setting out for food after 9pm I found only a few options. I was recommended the restaurant by a few locals so went alonG. I settled join a pizza as the other food seemed even more over priced than the pizza.
I was wrong to have thought it might be good. It appears as though the pizza was reheated - notice the mazzarella had been melted earlier and then reheated without the mozzarelle melting again.
The dough wasn't fresh and appeared to be frozen dough.
So after all this I requested some salt and chilli sauce as the pizza was so tasteless. They borough me a rameken with two thimbles worth of.... Ketchup.
The kind which doesn't actually taste like ketchup.
So the bill arrived and I had been charged for ketchup, when I ordered chili sauce and didn't use the ketchup.
After explaining this they said I still had to pay.
I'm happy to I said. What is the next item on the bill - a discretionary tip.
Please remove the tip I requested - to which the response was to soften - hey don't worry about the ketchup - its all good - we will take it off just pay the tip.
Well we did pay the service charge in the end though I definitely won't be going back.
Cold pizza and over priced

We had read alot about another restaurant (wont take the name here) and we informed our hotel assistant that we wish to visit that place for dinner as it was almost 10 pm.
We were recommended to visit Renaissance Tea House and Restaurant instead, so indeed we did.
We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing decor and warm vibe of this restaurant. Unfortunately the food menu was in Armenian and our hotel assistant who was so kind to get us here, also called out to the chef who spoke English. The chef took time out to actually explain most dish (mostly ingredients...as I avoid beef and not fond of sea-food and my wife is vegetarian), so we dont accidently get any of it.
I had an amazing pork rice meal and my wife enjoyed her vegetarian sizzler and recommended white wine. They also serve bread basket with the meals.
The waitress was always smiling as she passed-by and inquired if we were ok or wanted something as my wife was famished after the long night drive from Yerevan.
It had rained in the evening, so the outside section was closed and we sat indoors which was non-smoking (surprising as most places indoors are smoking as well)
Our hotel assistant had waited for us and was busy with other work...till we actually realised that he owned the place...Mr Armaan :)
He even called for a cabbie for us back to our hotel and waited 10 minutes till it came ...unfortunately he didnt speak much English but we did tell him we loved the place and our bursting bellies proved we loved the food..
Great hospitality and great food...
A good place indeed to visit in Karabakh
Thanks Armaan

Immediately after arriving in Karabakh capital, Stepanakert, my partner and I stumbled across this wonderful gem of a cafe, now on day four, we have visited as many times. Wooden tables are scattered around a large, airy, downstairs room filled with classic vinyl and an eclectic mix of tunes from Armenian pop to 80's electro...from Sirusho to Depeche Mode.
The food is really well priced and tasty and Karo and his crew are always bubbly and welcoming.
Whether you are in a coffee in the corner mood, local wine and food or gin and a dance, this is the place. Most days it seems you can do all three.
I know we will be back very soon!

I wasn't expecting to find waffles in Stepanakert, but that's not the best part. This place is a gem in the city. Located 5 minutes from the main square, it was a lovely patio area where they had a "nardi" tournament the evening I was there. A friend and I enjoyed tea and waffles in the patio and I'd definitely go back to try more of their food. I'd heard their pizza was good, and they had recently introduced a burger onto their menu. Definitely worth visiting.
