Almaty /ˈælməti/ (Kazakh: Алматы, Almaty [ɑlmɑˈtə]; Russian: Алматы), formerly known as Alma-Ata /ˌælmə.əˈtɑː/ (Russian: Алма-Ата) and Verny (Russian: Верный Vernyy), is the largest city in Kazakhstan, with a population of 1,797,431 people, about 8% of the country's total population. It served as capital of the Kazakh state in its various forms from 1929 to 1997, under the influence of the then Soviet Union and its appointees. Alma-Ata was the host city for a 1978 international conference on Primary Health Care where the Alma Ata Declaration was adopted, marking a paradigm shift in global public health. In 1997, the government relocated the capital to Astana in the north of the country, which is about 12 hours away by train.

I we came for dinner with high expectations. I have eaten India cuisine in many countries including India of course. This establishment was a big let down. Instead of using a mix of powder and fresh peppers, they use only the former. The heat is there, but it only burns and is not complex at all. Quite unfortunate.

This is a Chinese restaurant with a Singaporean chef. The place with lovely with an area outside for drinks and smoke and an area inside with gigantic Chinese portraits reminiscent of the Qing Dynasty. We had a buffet including peking duck. I had a really great tim

As a frequent visitor of the Princessa the sister restaurant of Turandot Furmanova I found some pluses and some minuses about this nicely decorated and quiet restaurant. The hygien standarts are higher but lacks the taste and the portions sizes and the prices are higher by some 70%.

This restaurant started well with good food at reasonable prices.Unfortunately with the time the quality of product they use decreased and we ended up this week with heavy food posoning right after visiting this restaurant.What a pity for us!We liked this place before, but it is healthier to keep away.Dear Oleg, we're very sorry for this situation! This is unacceptable incident and we'll be very appreciate if we can make a call to you and ask some qestions about dinner and what you ordered that day. We need to know details to check our product provisioner and to control kitchen. Can you leave you phone number or call us by yourself. It will such a regret for us to loose our loyal guest.
