We have gone to this restaurant a couple of times and each experience has been better than the last. We took our friends here for their birthday. The setting is quiet and beautiful. You take a boat on the lake to the restaurant and the ride is pleasant and scenic. You will need to make Reservations as this is a very popular place and only open on weekends. It is very good for families with children as they can provide space for them to play while waiting for your meal.

The mini Alcapurrias were on point!, we ordered those as starters. The pina coladas and sangrias were good too. We ordered the weekend special "mofongo de yucca con churrasco y camarones" well let me start off by saying I was very skeptical about the yuca mofongo because unlike platano it tastes sweet. I expected a churrasco (long meat, steak like) but they only added a few thin strips of churrasco and 5 shrimps on a stick. The meal was not what I expected, it was okay to be completely honest. We couldn't switch to the platano mofongo because it wasn't included on the special. So we paid $25 for something that we were kinda stuck with/ didn't prefer to get. I would go there again and eat other things on the menu, but not the special.

Restaurante La Fragua

Our experience with restaurant La Fragua began as we were having coffee, awaiting our tour of the plantation. As we were looking over the various vegtables, many unknown to us that were grown at that plantation, so was the La Fragua chef. We didn't know at that time that he was going to be the one who made our dinner. He took the time to explain and in some cases slice open to show us various vegetables. After our tour we thought that it would be a nice place to also eat before our drive back to San Juan. We are not Spanish speakers and this was our first visit to Puerto Rico. There were people at three or four other tables. in other words, it was early afternoon and not busy. Our Waitress was kind as we tried to understand the foods that we were going to order. She made several trips to the kitchen, to ask how to explain the various foods. We ate well and the only food that we can name was Mofongo. it was the second mofongo that we had on our trip and it was delicious, large enough for the two of us, just wonderful. We just loved La Fragua and plan on returning on our second visit to Puerto Rico early next year. Thank you Chef and every one at La Fragua for being so very kind to us.

El Campo es Leña has dedicated to only serve the best of the best. Its rustic design offers a casual yet gorgeous atmosphere. Its pizza has a one-of-a-kind recipe, making it a special, delightful experience. Alcoholic beverages are all a masterpiece. I recommend you to try the iconic “Leñazo” Mojito. Words get short to describe the beauty of El Campo es Leña. All in all, it mixes four essentials for a ‘restaurant’ of excellency: Spectacular food, superb views, beautiful design, and gorgeous views.
Through your visit to Puerto Rico, El Campo es Leña is one of the essential places to eat, drink, and relax.

This is a charming place in a woodsy area that merits a visit if you are in Puerto Rico. Jayuya itself is a tranquil old time town, full of good-natured people.
The food here was wonderful...the fried chicken being our favourite. It is not breaded or greasy, rather very lightly browned, seasoned with garlic. Exquisite.
The prices are great, the service personable and the bathroom clean. Our party of 5 continued to crave their food for the rest of the trip!

After a long trip from Isla Verde we got to this restaurant, bigger than we thought, and with ample parking space. Everything was excellent.... Passion sangria, appetizers, the best were the Malanga with bacalao fritters, Skirt Steaks with sausages, and swiss cheese, and arañitas (plantains....) There was a gentleman playing guitar, and singing, and the service was excellent, too. Don´t forget to order Mamposteao..... rice with beans...

It was so refreshing to find a hip restaurant like this in central Puerto Rico. You have the option of parking at the bottom of the hill and getting a lift up or hoofing it yourself and burning some calories. Super friendly staff and tasty food. I had the waffle Sandwich. I won't forget this place.
