The rooms were just fine. Nothing fancy. Very nice swimming pool able to drive into town and have the Covid tests needed to return home and do some shopping

Reviewed By biker03We stayed at this location for 6 days and recommend it to anyone planning a trip here. All of the staff were outstanding, the on site restaurant, pool, and bar were very convenient also. The beach was steps away from the room and had easy access to town.

DoceLunas is a spectacular Four Star hotel with five acres of tropical gardens at the base of a cool jungle covered mountain. Coatimundi, kinkajou, anteaters, toucans, and scarlet macaws can be seen here. We have a lovely mosaic lined pool with a waterfall cave, a full services spa, and yoga classes. Reviewed By JasonD4121We had a short but sweet 1 night stay. Friendly staff, friendly dogs and cats...especially a juvenile cat named Romeo whom my daughter absolutely adored. Even if DoceLunas didn't have delicious food, a spacious, clean, comfortable room with ice-cold AC, friendly and helpful staff, free bicycles to borrow, or the beautifully landscaped grounds and resident capuchin monkeys....even if it didn't have all of that, it would have been worth it to stay there just to pet Romeo the cat.

Reviewed By MKA1283The room was basic but clean and big enough, it missed a kettle though especialky as no breakfast was served. Good location on the beach and 10 min walk from the center. Nice smaller pool closer to the beach, kids loved it. Definitely good quality/price.

The rooms near the tiki bar have balconies that are perfect for your ocean views. The tiki bar seems is the place to be when you need a reprieve from the sun, a drink, and something to eat. Locals and tourists alike frequent this little slice of heaven because there is a huge menu of things to chose from. Don’t miss out on the tuna tartar or the whole red snapper. Nights can get a little loud if the tiki bar is busy, only because voices carry when you have ocean and trees as your neighbors. Book your adventures through the front desk, they can help with everything you would like to do in Costa Rica. Don’t miss the masseuse either, she is magical.

Beachfront hotel in Jaco - I had a great stay
Reviewed By Gary CI'm writing this while enjoying a cold beer at the hotel's tiki bar an hour before I have to (sadly) go to the bus station and head back to San Jose. It's mid-July 2021. I have been at the Hotel Tangeri for a couple of nights. I stayed in a vila - nicely equipped with a full kitchen and a bedroom with two queen beds. The hotel staff is very friendly and accomodating. I had a problem with the AC on the first night, and told the office about it when I walked by on my way to breakfast (which is included and really good). It was fixed by the time I finished breakfast. It's right on the water with a great view of the beach. The pool area and tiki bar are great - if you're traveling with kids, they'll love the beach and pool areas. The property is well-maintained, and my favorite part are the iguanas, which are everywhere when the sun is shining - seriously, if you have a fear of lizards, you won't like this place, but they are fascinating. I had a salad for lunch yesterday and there was one begging just like a dog until the waiter shooed it away (which was unfortunate, because I was enjoying it). Jaco is nice - plenty of options for eating, drinking, and shopping within a few minute's walk from the hotel. The locals are really friendly, the food is great, the scenery is phenomenal, but the beach is kind of meh - I understand that there are many better beaches in Costa Rica, but this one is popular due to its proximity to San Jose. But I came here to eat Costa Rican cuisine, drink beer, read a book, and enjoy the Costa Rican sunset, so mission accomplished. There are other hotels in Jaco that are closer to the night life and activity (although like I said, that's all just a few minute's walk away), but if you're traveling with family, or if your goal is to relax, this is the place.

Reviewed By J5287LTfernandobThe place needs renovation but the staff is five star and if the hotel is full or almost full then the guests make up for any defects the place might have. Then the ambience around the pool is first class. Everybody is happy once the party mood kicks in and you will have the time of your life. If you are the only couple in the pool you can get a complete tan but thats it. Drinks and food are good and cheap, but thats it. But if the pool is full you will want to return to this hotel every weekend.

Reviewed By d0ublevI stayed here a few years ago and saw a good price on Booking.com. I should’ve canceled my reservation upon the experience in reception a very rude clerk at the counter. After checking I loaded up my bags and started walking and he started yelling at me to put the bracelet on my friend my hands were full and I could not and did not want to put my luggage down so I told him I would do it as soon as I got to the room he then was yelling at me the whole way to the room and followed me to make sure we put the bracelet on. Let me tell you do not rent any of the rooms 101 through 106 I got stuck with a think the bullcrap room. It is right by the lockers for the people to use the pool and very noisy dirty and wet. Upon entering the room the bathroom has a lot to be desired it was extremely dirty with black sand in the shower. take a look at the picture with the electrical outlet directly behind the bathroom sink I don’t know what Einstein did that but not only is it dangerous you can’t even plug anything in because the Fossett is in the way. The room was nothing like the one I read it last time crappy old furniture in a very uncomfortable bed. We went out to eat and when we returned our room was wide open even though I locked it the slider door does not lock very well. Our neighbors were outside eating pizza and they told us the kids were messing around in the room. there were a bunch of kids running around out of control with the parents nowhere to be found outside our room opening up all the lockers. We check the room to make sure nothing was missing and thank goodness there wasn’t we had some expensive device is charging in there during our dinner. I will never return to this place even if it’s free. The only good thing I can say is the staff at the breakfast was good and the breakfast was decent. I couldn’t wait to get out of here in the morning. I spent $100 on this room because booking says it was a great deal from the normal 150. I stayed to other places jaco During my stay when was $35 and the other one was $43 and both places were much better than this room. Do not rent room 101 to 106 for anything more than $50
