Overall rating of 3.5 stars. Mu wife and I were on vacation in Cannobio in Aug. 2016 and stopped in for dinner because the menu listed risotto. Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of risotto, but we stayed. I ordered a pizza with salami and it was quite good, but not the best we have had in Cannobio. My wife ordered the gnocchi and she was disappointed - too few gnocchi and too much cream. The gnocchi were fine, but, again, not the best we have had in Cannobio. The prosciutto and melon were fine, the wine was good, and service was excellent - probably the best service we have had in Cannobio. Of course, the view of Lago Maggiore from the promenade was great! Would we stop in again, yes, but never would be our first choice. Overall, acceptable and reasonably priced for the promenade of Cannobio.

La mia ricensione si limita al ristorante, e non riguarda in alcun modo il servizio di residence offerto, visto che mi sono recato al residence Patrizia esclusivamente per mangiare. La cordialità dello staff è molto variegata : si parte da una leggerezza del servizio della cameriera di sala (diciamo...) che a tratti ci ha anche deriso per una domanda normalissima fatta ( volevamo sapere se l'insalata era a buffet o servita), al cameriere che ha SBUFFATO al nostro tavolo mentre ci accendeva la candela.. (neanche richiesta, peraltro...) ai gestori (presumibilmente) che sono stati gentilissimi nell'aiutarci a cercare una chiave dell'auto che credavamo persa in un primo momento.Il servizio è stato discreto ma molto lento, sopratutto nella presa delle ordinazioni. La mia ordinazione è stata : GRIGLIATA MISTA DEL MARE accompaganta da verdure saltate. Le verdure saltate erano veramente ottime : forse un po' troppo unte - burrose e i toni erano molto sul dolcino ... ma erano scottate perfettamente. la grigliata è stata a mio parere...sconfortante. Non solo non era grigliata (trattandosi verosimilmente di decongelato già impanato ......) ma sopratutto era appunto, impanato! la panatura era assolutamente unta e pesante (non croccante). AD ogni modo, di grigliata neanche l'ombra. I pesci coinvolti erano pesci di fascia bassa : cernia, uno sgombro, due gamberoni black tiger (impanati pure loro) due platesse e una sogliola. sono sicuro che fosse decongelato impanato, perchè il colore della panatura era quello classico del decongelato, cioè bianchiccio in mezzo e nero ai bordi. i miei commensali hanno ordinato della pasta (dall'aspetto gradevole) e della pizza... posso però dire che se un ristorante non è in grado di grigliare del pesce, dovrebbe astenersi dal proporlo sul propio MENU. Il sapore del cibo era totalment e mònotono : la panatura copriva ovviamente qualsiasi differenza di gusto delle carni del pesce, e non c'p stato alcun uso di spezie ed aromi che potessero in qualche modo tirare su il piatto. Una portata effettivamente molto poco curata anche nella presentazione.

Stopped in here while needing to pass time waiting for the ferry. Park close by for kids and right on the waterfront. Didn't eat here but did have drinks, lovely spot in the sun with plenty of seating.

The restaurant was busy when we arrived, it was around 7pm.There were 2 waitress, one taking care of the food and one taking care of the drink.Once we get to order, it didn't take long for our food to arrive. But nevertheless, it took sometimes for us to get to order our food.It took around half an hour to get to pay our bill. Extremely busy, they should have hired more waitress or try way to improve their service.Anyway, the food was delicious!

Immer wieder eine sichere Bank, wenn es was "normales" sein soll. Pizza, Pasta, Fisch - aber auch Schnitzel mit Pommes. Sicher nicht das, was ich suche wenn ich in Italien authentisch essen gehen möchte. aber vor allem für Familien mit Kindern oder auch Gruppen gibt es hier eine groÃe Auswahl an günstigen Speisen. Günstig bedeutet übrigens nicht, dass das Essen Mittelmaà ist - die meisten Speisen sind wirklich top. Empfehlenswert vor allem der Fisch und Pasta mit ebensolchem. Dazu günstige offene Weine.Interessant für Familien: Spielplatz direkt am Restaurant.Wichtig: Unbedingt reservieren, abends richtig voll.Beeindruckend: Der Service ist wirklich einzigartig gut und freundlich. Auch wenn die Bude gerammelt voll ist, passt hier alles. Schnell, freundlich, aufmerksam.

We have had dinner in this restaurant twice during the last three evenings. Both dinners have been very good. The food was excellent, we had both pasta and main courses. We enjoy it very much. Also the service was very good and friendly. The restaurant can absolutely be recommended.

In a small picturesque village in front of the Laggo Maggiore we spent a delightful lunch at Lo Scalo. The dishes ordered were tasteful and delicately presented and prepared by a highly talented young chef William Sonn. This is definitely worth a stop over. The service was excellent and highly attentive. A wonderful discovery - spread the word !

We can only recommend this place for an excellent dinner. The outside location is pretty small but exactly that adds a lot to the very personal touch and atmosphere. The chef is a really nice guy. Personal greetings and always asking if you are happy. And believe you are! The tortillini which are of handmade doughe from the mama is just perfect! Hi there, enjoy yourself, but make a reservation. As said it's an exclusive opportunity you can't afford to miss!
