The restaurant looks ok from outside but opens up nicely with pleasant decor and atmosphere inside. There wasn't a huge food choice, but enough for everyone. There were four of us two had the veal, and two had the duck. All four of us enjoyed our meals. We also had two bottles of water, two glasses of proseco, and two red wine between us. The total cost came to 108 euros which included a 3 euro service charge each.

Read mixed reviews but decided the good outweighed the average. So glad we went! After a stroll lakeside and a look at lots of menus we liked the relaxed look of the place. We arrived at 6 pm and were offered a short menu or to wait till 7 pm for the longer dinner menu. We waited till 7 pm enjoying a couple of drinks till then, which came with great appetisers. Local white wine was superb, so good we had 2 carafes! We ordered a starter of gnoccho with Parma ham, then a Milanese and a contrefilet. Both were great, came with a portion each of griilled veg and potatoes. Staff were completely charming. My rusty Italian wasn't required as they went confidently into English. A jazz trio arrived to complete the atmosphere and we were sorry to leave. We loved it. 70 euros for two with copious drinks was value for money.

After walking out of another restaurant because of very poor treatment, we went to Trattoria del Glicine not knowing what to expect. It went beyond expectation! Service was friendly and the food was FANTASTIC! The rabbit was one of the best dishes I have ever had. An amazing experience! Highly recommended

We dined here to celebrate our engagement earlier that day. We drove from Milan and were greeted warmly at the front of the hotel whilst the concierge explained the hotel to us and talked about the view. Our reservation was at 7.45pm, we arrived slightly early and we were invited to have a drink on the balcony prior to dinner, which we did. We thoroughly enjoyed the view and the cocktails (the signature Aperol Spritz is very refreshing!)When our drinks were finished we were invited to the restaurant downstairs to our table. We had a wonderful view over the lake, very romantic.We had the tasting menu and wine pairing which was exquisite. We have eaten at many Michelin star restaurants in Italy, and elsewhere - Berton Al Lago was just as memorable for all the right reasons. The plates were elegantly decorated and the food was delicious - my personal favorite was the pasta - it might look small on the plate but it certainly packed a flavourful punch!The dessert, which was made almost entirely with vegetables was also incredible.The service matched the food in every way, so much so we have agreed we will be back to stay at Il Sereno and to dine at Berton Al Lago.Thank you for making our engagement so special.Dear Anthony K,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.Our mission is to provide an excellent service to our guests from start to finish. Made enquires last year to hold my husbandâs birthday here with 19 guests and Giulia could not be more helpful. She forwarded menus to chose from and kept me posted when the restaurant closed for refurbishment.We arrived by boat to be amazed by this beautiful restaurant set on the water. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Giulia to the time we left, we were made to feel special . The food was outstanding ,as was the service and the view. I cannot thank you all enough for such a wonderful night. We will be talking about it for a long time to come . Again another huge thank you to Giulia for your help with everything.

You can tell that you are close to Swizerland since there almost no places to eat. We tried at least five restaurants which were all closed. At last, we found this one and had a nice plattet of salami and prosciutto.

This is a great place for an informal family lunch in the woods with good value traditional italian food and wine in a rustic environment both inside and out. Service is friendly and efficient. Advise you take the free jeep up but walking back down is very enjoyable through the woods and there are some great views to be seen. Toilet facilities could be perhaps be a little more modern!
