My wife and adult daughter had dinner at Al Veluu our last nite after being in Lenno for a month. Wished we had found it earlier. The host and hostess couldn't have been nicer. They were sincere in making sure we enjoyed our experience with them. Seating is in the hills above the lake and was magnificent. We could see the villa we rented in the distance making it even more special for a last nite. The food was wonderfully prepared; brought out hot and served with professionalism. We thought it was a wonderful value and experience.

Ittiturismo Ristorante Mella

The two centuries years old "Mella" restaurant was taken over by Sala family in 1958. They introduced a new activity, on the Lake of Como, which offers a good link between professional lake fishing and traditional Italian cuisine. Today, Alessandro, a pro

Horrible experience. Do NOT go here! The food is really awfull. We had the full fish menu and all the dishes were 100 percent trash. I almost puked by eating the fish antipasti and the fish risotto. Just please dont mix Fish and rissoto When we got the bill they even charged us extra for switching our desserts for sorbet to tiramisu even though they agreed to do it when we ordered. When I confronted the waiter she was resistent to change the bill.

Lovely little restaurant in old building. Have the Trout entree it was sensational. As was the apple tart. The risotto was not so exciting. A friendly authentic restaurant when you want to get away from the crazy crowds and tourist energy. Not easy to find but worth it.

This part of Lake Como doesn't seem to be doing exceptionally well economically. We noticed a disproportionate number of seemingly closed businesses. There are hotels in this region, and there are probably worse places to base yourself if you're spending time on Lake Como, though the main hotel just up the street is horrendously expensive. We weren't staying here, however; we were here as part of a one day bus tour of the Lakes area. While two of us went to see the gardens of Villa Carlotta which are just up the road, the other two decided to just take a leisurely lunch by the lakeside. We stumbled across Helvetia rather than searching it out. And we are quite satisfied that we did. I've attached a picture showing the view from our table; it's across the road and onto the lake. It's therefore relaxing enough as long as you aren't on a deadline to meet up with a bus, which unfortunately we were. But nonetheless it's hard to complain about a view like that.Service was friendly and efficient; we were seated quickly and provided with menus, and the orders were taken and fulfilled promptly. Again, you can't really complain about that. One of us had cannelloni, and the other had lasagne. Again, I've included a picture of my lasagne. It wasn't exceptional, but it was certainly better than average. I enjoyed it. My partner thought that the cannelloni was about average. At the end, there were clean and well maintained bathrooms upstairs. The cost of the 2 dishes, a half litre of sparkling mineral water and a Coke zero was €25, which isn't excessive. This isn't a restaurant that I will probably remember in detail 2 years from now, but the food was good, not too expensive, and the atmosphere was good as well. If we had half star increments I would probably rate it as 3.5, but it's perhaps a little to the north of that so I will give it a 4. If you're looking for a place to eat either before or after visiting Villa Carlotta or perhaps a cruise from the nearby ferry wharf, you could do far worse than to go here. I'd be prepared to recommend it to a friend.

Tucked high above Lake Como at Tremezzo this is is a great local restaurant. Being late summer, dinner was served outside on multiple terraces (the front one does not have a view). Serving local style food including a cheesy polenta, all ingredients were high quality and authentic, with very generous servings.

Oh, my! What a great find! We stumbled onto this wine bar quite by accident and we just LOVED it! The owner and all of the staff were so helpful in helping us make fabulous wine selections (they have SO many choices). The atmosphere is Old World and very inviting. We were there on one rainy day and it was magical. We ended up having both lunch and a light dinner here and such great care was taken in the preparation and presentation of our meals. I highly, highly recommend stopping in here during a visit to Bellagio!

We had lunch at the restaurant yesterday. Our plan was to walk towards the ferry terminal and head to Bellagio for lunch. However walking past this place we couldn’t resist the patio and the views. As per previous reviews there is a set daily menu with only one option for started main course and dessert (there is also a children’s menu). It would appear that the place is run by a father and son duo but I will not be surprised if it’s coordinated by mama in the background! We were greeted with complementary Prosecco and and canapé. We dined on rabbit and my daughter had Pasta in tomato sauce which was simple but delicious. A fantastic afternoon. We ended up staying and finishing the delicious bottle of wine! I can’t recommend this place enough :-)

The view speaks for itself, this is the beautiful part of Lake Como after all! The food is exquisite, interesting dishes home-cooked from fresh ingredients - simple yet full of flavour. A refreshing change from the "standard" Italian menu, and free from all the dressy touches that seem to prevail these days. Service is unobtrusive but efficient; dishes are brought to the table as soon as they are cooked, rather than being kept hanging around on the pass waiting until the whole table can be served together. Some may not like this. The family and staff may appear a bit reserved at first - regulars know better, they are delightful - but you may have to give a smile to get one.And to the reviewer who calls this a bad restaurant because they wouldn't allow his dog in, I can assure you that dogs are allowed in (a fault in my book as I hate to see dogs in restaurants) so there must have been some reason.........I'd suggest a return visit without the dog as you are missing a treat.
