Ispra was my base for some cycling training and I was given the tip to try Robyâs by a local.Great fresh food with a nice variety of daily specials at an unbeatable price. I ended up coming back here every evening and enjoyed a whole range of excellent pasta dishes.Roby is a relaxed, well-traveled and very hospitable Dutchman who has lived in Italy for a long time and developed his passion for Italian cooking. He also speaks a whole range of languages.And Roby was also very welcoming to my dog who accompanied me each evening.I will certainly be back on my next visit to Ispra on the beautiful Lago Maggiore.thank you much for your review, hope to see you soon, enjoy your staying! Off the beaten path outside of Stresa and Lago Maggiore this little hideaway is a really good restaurant serving food that is anything but typical Tourist Italian fare of pizza and pasta. Instead you get a menu with pheasant, apples and prunes or an obscure homemade pasta with veal, orange, pine nuts, and raisins. The décor is mountain farmhouse and on the chilly day we were there, a fire in fireplace was a nice touch. The coperto came with an aperitif of local wine and a small charcuterie. Service and hospitality was quite good while prices were actually a little below market for this level of creativity and culinary experience.

I had the pleasure to be at Locanda Pozzetto several times. They were always good, the food excellent, however this time they went beyond any expectation!Despite they had few problems with some staff not showing up at work that day...we confirmed our reservation. The lady (I assume the owner) who attended on us was basically taking care on her own alone of all tables. Therefore we all were ready to spend some patience and wait...unexpectedly the service turned to be excellent, even better than usual, I thought! Not much to comment about the food: each and every bite was divine, ingredients are among the very best I've ever tasted in my life and the chef really knows how to achieve the best out of those. Servings are very generous and, surprise, prices very very very very very very honest!Locanda deserves to be visited also because of the fantastic location and the stunning view! A kinda Michelin starred restaurant where they know how to treat genuine ingredients and guests...A must try!

Nice restaurant in the pedestrian area with a small outdoor area heated by lamps. The staff is nice, the food super and well presented. We had vitel tonnee, veal with tuna sauce typical Piedmontese, and gnocchi with pink trout, a very interesting and unusual combination; then we shared Rossini filet and lamb with thyme, both meats really tender and juicy. The chocolate soufflé was excellent too. Portions are middle size, as you expect in a fine restaurant. The price is on the high side. They have wine by the glass or also half bottles. They take credit cards.

Our first lunch after our arrival at Stresa and we were so glad we went there. The restaurant opened at noon for lunch and we were the first table. We ordered the foie gras, 3 house made fresh pasta dishes and a bottle of wine to share between the two of us. The chef plated all the orders in half before serving us. We really appreciated the efforts and definitely kick up the rating. The food was very good. The service was friendly and thfe food came in a timely manner.

The restaurant is less inviting when you face it, no outdoor seating, close to the road, but once inside you are treated with everything you need. Very friendly and most of all excellent food. Over a long weekend around the lake this was the meal that was the best to me ! One thing i did not like : the waiter, altough very friendly, insisted on speaking some german words to us, altough we are not germans and my sister in law who was with us speaks fluent Italian, bit annoying. Anything else : perfect !

I have been hearing about this place for a few months now so we have decided to test it out. We had family sunday lunch with small birthday celebration.The menu was excellent offering good variety of dishes. Not too many dishes as I get suspicious whether products are fresh. It has offered a diverse choice suitable to all tastes and the products were certainly fresh and carefully selected. The wine choice was also very good (pity I was designated driver but my husband has indulged).The highlight was maialino dish; very tender and juicy. Compliments to the chef.We had three/four course meal at very reasonable price. Superior quality, lovely interior and super nice service. It was our first visit but certainly not the last. We loved it :-)Thank you! Sorry for my bad english but i desire to answer you. I wait you and your family to taste our specialities that change every month and the special menu for the event like next woman's day or Easter or to taste our new Young proposal IL GIROPASTA

This restaurant is very popular and booking essential. Time should be left to find a car-parking space as well!The view is towards the east over Lake Maggiore. Service was attentive and the locally made breads were excellent. The octopus leg was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The raviolis were good as a secundi. The main tempura vegetable and fish dish was huge and the tempura slightly on the thick side. The other main course was slightly under-seasoned for my taste.A pleasant evening as acouple enjoying nice food on the lakeside
