Hugo

Some friends which stay there for some nights recommended usto pay him a visit since we where there only for a day.
We stay all day long at Hugo´s place in one of the gazebos. Lunch was delicious and super fresh. My friends had the catch of the day with salads and I have chicken with frieds. Everything was great and super cheap.

The menu at Hotel Playa Scondida features many healthy items: fresh fruit, juices, fish, local vegetables and roots and excellent desserts.
Three hot meals are provided daily to hotel guests.
We were thrilled by the varieties of fruit juices and fresh fish that we were served each day.
Beatriz, who designed the menu, assisted by the very able cook Loida, provided us with better than expected sustenance.

Playa Surf

Although not the cheapest, this is the place to be on Playa Blanca.
Recommended by our guide/driver, we were at first cautious about it being the best value but it is worth that bit extra.
Good service, good bar and great food. All within yards of the sea. An excellent beach experience.
Less hassle from the sellers and all the facilities you could want (well maybe not the running water). Yes, sure it is more crowded at busy times but our experience was perfect.

TIP: take a flashlight or phone with good light hard to see the menu at night. Went for dinner and it was OK, but considering your options around there, it’s clean, safe, well priced and tasty food. One excellent items is there alcoholic drinks, strong and well priced!!

Hostal Restaurante Bar Gafita

Playa Blanca in my opinion is a complete tourist trap. This place was recommended by a guy from white taxis. They all have their spots they refer you to for commissions. This place is a dump. And way overcrowded. And also the landing area for a huge boat that brings in about 100 people. So you will be crowded with people, guys selling you everything, women trying to give you massages, then jet ski rides, and everything else you can possibly sell. It is noisey, annoying and loud. Beach is beautiful. So that's the sad part that we could not enjoy this. My recommendation is if you want to go to playa Blanca. Get a day pass at one of the nice hotels. Much quieter and also less harassment of people. Also the prices are outrageous for crappy food. Also bathroom is nasty here.
Playa Blanca is beautiful. But unfortunately it has been contaminated by vendors and annoying sales and con artist

Playa Opitours

Reviewed By Daniel F - Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

Torally unprofessional service. I booked a Rosario tour with this company through our hotel without Reading the reviews - big mistake. They picked us up late, directed some of us to a wrong boat but after realizing we were in the boat we had to move to another vessel. Well as it was the time to depart, the boat (bendicion edi) had engine problems. After short delay we were off only to have engine problems again - this time it looked like maybe one of the spark plug cables snapped.
After fiddling around fixing the problem we stopped at the areas on playa blanca. I decided to skip the part of the tour due to safety concerns and stayed on playa blanca until they were to pick us up. Well, they forgot that they told group of 6 to meet them at the second drop so we were about to take a bus back to Cartagena due to boat not showing up.
One in a group noticed them in a distance pulling away and by luck was able to call them.
