With a beautiful view on the island, Tropical bar is located on the beach in a very nice place. Sebastiao is a very welcoming host who serves either good cocktails (he's been trained at a deluxe hotel) or offers a good menu with fish, shrimps or chicken. Me and my friend went to Bahia mar for lunch but were so dissappointed. We both ordered the shrimp burger because it sounded delicious with guacamole and fried onion rings. When we got the burgers there was only ketchup and lettuce on the them, nothing like the description on the menu. We asked the waitor why we did not get what we ordered and he could not answer so he brought out the chef, who also did not seem to understand our complaint. They agreed to make us some guacamole and onion ringd on the side, but ended up serving us a tomato sallad with no sign of any avocado and something resembling onion rings, but unfortunately they were not fried so they were unedible. The only thing we really liked was the home made bread, which was really tasty!Oh dear this review is of course very disappointing and I am so sorry that your expectations of a tasty shrimp burger met with frustration. Of course it is a requirement that the food served is as described on the menu, and of course I am going to look into your complaint to ascertain why this was not so. Please, should you be brave enough to try us again, give me a ring, it will be my pleasure to welcome you personally. My sincere apologies. Susana

I have been to this little place of paradise a few times to have dinner and it was fantastic every time. Pedro is an absolutely great host, he'll make you feel comfortable and feeds you excellent food. It's a great place to eat for couples, friends and lone visitors alike. The views are stunning and there is nothing like a chat around the beach fire with a belly full of delicious food and 2M. I spent in total 3 months in Mozambique and honestly have not found matapa better than Pedro's mum's. One of our dive mates told us about zita cooking class and we proceeded to book with her. We just called her to check her availability. Definitely hands down one of the most authentic experiences we had! From going to the market to choosing our ingredients to cooking our own lunch! Everything was made from scratch. The food was delicious and zita was so friendly with great conversation. Highly recommended!

I went with friends to have a dinner, we ate a local food, "matapa" very delicious, o recommende everyone to visit this place, but sometimes they make a noise there, they fight, but if you look for local place to eat this is best. I visited this place more than 10 times
