Great service: waiter didn't write anything down, brought everything exactly as ordered & didn't even ask who got what :-) Food was very tasty, and loved the decor. Had a nice salad bar, even calamari olives & strawberries! Wish we lived closer, as we'd probably visit every month. Highly recommend!

Black Canyon Restaurant

The environment of the Black Canyon is very comfortable for couples, family and friends. The soft lighting with lights over the table is perfect. The arrangement of the seating allows for conversation without bothering others.Oh yeah, the food. The menu is large but not too large. For an appetizer we had the Tuna Poke served with Won Ton crackers, very good. The dinners we decided on were the Prime Rib sandwich and the Filet and Shrimp Pasta, both were wonderful! Then, there was our server, Bailey! She made the good meal even better. She was informative, prompt and friendly throughout our time in the restaurant. The evening was above our expectations! We would highly recommend the Black Canyon to anyone seeking a good meal in a pleasant restaurant.

Don Hall's Factory

Reviewed By ChiefGuru

Don Hall began his Fort Wayne restaurant empire back in 1946, with a Drive-In Restaurant on Bluffton Road. Sixteen properties are now part of Don Hall's including The Gas House, Takoaka, The Deck, Triangle Park, Factory, The Tavern, Hall's Original, Don Hall's Neighborhood Grill, Doin Hall's Prime Rib Restaurant, Guest House, Guest House Bar & Grill, Tap Haus, Commissary Restaurant, Hall's Catering Service, Hall's Takes the Cake and The Philmore on Broadway. We have had the pleasure to dine, always with a good meal, at several of these locations and decided to try The Factory. Our decision was perfect. The service, the atmosphere, the decor and the food at The Factory were all superb. The Factory is on Coldwater Road just South of the Washington Center Road intersection. They have a huge parking lot - no issues parking. Their interior is subdued, dark brown tones with wood and brick accents. The dining areas are split into several rooms quite conducive to singles, couples or families. They also have a separate bar room area. Our relatives had a significant wedding anniversary and my partner and I decided to help them celebrate at The Factory. We made our visit on a Sunday afternoon. We were quickly seated and our waitress was excellent, greeting us and telling us a bit about the restaurant. We were easy on beverages - just water and coffee. They have a diverse lunch menu with choices for many tastes - Baskets (fish, shrimp, chicken), salads (Cobb, Greek, Caesar, Salamon, Firecracker Shrimp, Steak), burgers (beef, Ahi tuna), Sandwiches (prime rib, chicken, turkey, fish, pork tenderloin, BBQ brisket, Rueben), Combos (slider and/or sandwich and/or soup) or Entrees (Prime Rib, Chopped Steak, Filet Mignon, Sirloin, Ribeye, Smoked Pork Chop, Cod, Chicken, Salmon, Brisket). Our guests both opted for the Fish Basket with cole slaw and fries. They found their meals satisfying. The portion of fish was large, the fish was in chunks that were perfectly breaded and deep fried, leaving them moist and tasty. My partner started with "Fort Wayne's Finest Bloody Mary," which she found delicious. It was huge and near a meal in itself. With the beverage, she opted for their Factory Greek Salad (pepperoni mini, green peppers, black olives, beets, pineapple & feta cheese). She loved it. I selected their BBQ Brisket sandwich (wheat hoagie, juicy tender brisket, grilled onions, cole slaw and dill pickles) with an Andouille Potato Cake side. My sandwich and potato were outstanding. I could not have asked for more to fill me up in the most pleasant manner. Shame on us for not dining at The Factory sooner, as we have been missing out on a tremendous option. The four of us will definitely return.

4 years ago, the level of over the top PDA among the servers along with being told to go to Cork n' Clever if i wanted prime Rib (my server told me that), made me leave Club Soda as my regular go to spot! So, on Saturday we gave it another shot, and it was much better! For one, they have Prime Rib Back on the menu! Second, our server was very kind, and accommodating when I asked for a warm coffee drink that didn't taste like coffee (her and the bar tender delivered the best chocolate liquor coffee drink I have ever had! only compliant was the candlelight on the table kept burning out, and without the tea lights on the table the upstairs is a little dim.

The Hoppy Gnome

Reviewed By David W

Nancy and I are on a Beer Run and now on our way home from Kalamazoo. We decided Ft. Wayne would be a good stop for lunch and a brew or two. A little Google search provided us with a couple of stops. The Hoppy Gnome was the first on the short list, and it was an excellent choice. We bellied up to the bar as we typically do. It was lunch time and the place was busy. We ordered a couple of really good IPAs and some food. I had a cup of Chicken Posole and a Wild Mushroom Torta (sandwich), the Posole was simply wonderful and the sandwich was good, too. Nancy got three tacos with bib lettuce instead of taco shells. One was a Duck Confit, one fish and one with Korean Short Rib. She devoured them. Good brews, good food, good service. An excellent experience. Thanks so much for visiting David! Cheers :)

A fun place with good food! We stayed at the Guesthouse and stopped in for dinner. Fabulous service (I forgot the name of our server) :( Prime rib was cooked a little more than we would've liked but was still delicious! Definitely worth checking out for the breakfast buffet. If we're ever traveling in the area we'd definitely stay here again!
