Perfect Italian dining experience. We sat outside, under a massive olive tree for shade, on colourful wooden chairs. The menu was in Italian only and pizzas are only available at dinner time. The burratini with arugula and truffles was creamy and so fresh. The pastas were all perfectly cooked, aromatic and extremely satisfying. Staff were friendly and chatty.

Trattoria La Baracchina

The Baracchina is a typical Tuscan countryside “trattoria”, where simplicity combines with genuineness.Born in the 60ies as a shack where, on weekends, people from Florence would go for picnics, it slowly evolved into what it is now, a trattoria with an e

We were a little disappointed after eating here at short notice for Easter lunch.Entree and pasta were fine, without being great, but the mains were tough work. Despite the generous serve, the lamb had a weird cloying flavour. Unlike excellent rare beef I've eaten elsewhere in Tuscany, the dish here was exceptionally chewy and served with an inedible side salad. We barely touched either.€38pp is not cheap. By our standards, it's a 'special occasion' budget, particularly given the quality of meals we've had in the region for a third of the price. As such, we felt a little hard done by and said as such when asked how our meal was when we left (hoping, to be honest, for a gesture of goodwill on the final bill). The manager was personable enough but simply said that the meal was prepared in a traditional way, and that everyone else (primarily a few large families) ate it without complaining. Fair enough.By all means, if you're a large family who measure success of a meal by the weight of your meat intake then I can highly recommend this place. For anyone more interested in beautifully cooked food, try one of the many other places nearby.Hello Mr. disappointed, IT WAS a special occasion! In our obsolete tradition we call it Easter, it's when Jesus, the son of our God, resurrected after beeing crucified and we are used to go eating somewhere right out of the city, to welcome springtime. All restaurants are full of happy families and all restaurants offer a special menu for that lunch and if you decided to come to my trattoria it's because you comparated the prices of the others and found mine covenient, I presume. But price was your obsession. You could order everything you desired from the menu for that price and so you did: trying to obtain maximun for the money, you ordered everything and I think that your appetite arrived in bad conditions to the meats.Anyway, until this moment you didn't look so disappointed. The disappointment came all at the moment of the bill, when you asked for a discount: nice try, my dear, but "accà nisciuno è fesso!" (ask the lady with you about the meaning as she spoke a very good italian).

The food I found was of a high standard and 7 out of our party of 8 were impressed with it, and one not so much which is why I have given this review 4 stars. The service however here is exemplary, absolutely fantastic, with one of the waiters actually offering to take our party of 8 home if we were unable to get a taxi.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant, the only problem is getting a taxi as there doesn't appear to be a local taxi firm so prices are quite high but if you've got a car then happy days!! The garden area is apparently quite pretty but we were sat inside.

Amazing. I dined here as part of a Gate 1 tour. The food was amazing and all you could eat. It started out with an anti pasta bar and ended with a plate of meat including beff, pork, chicken and sausage that was some of the best meat I have eaten. The wine was free flowing. I am not a wine drinker but the blue sparking wine, the strawberry wine and the grapefruit wine was great. Six family members who were traveling with me loved the red and white wines served. The singers were good. This was an optional dinner on the tour and I am very glad we decided to do it. Would do it again.

A few kilometers outside Florence, this restaurant doesn't attract as many tourists as the ones in the city. The result is that the food is more refined, not mass-produced and made with attention to detail. Also the chef is not only in the kitchen but in the restaurant as well. He even came to meet us and shake hands when we arrived at the restaurant. We asked the chef about a dish on the menu but ordered something else. He then gave us a small plate to taste the dish we asked him about. Our main courses (fish) were delicious, generous, well cooked and full of flavor. After desert we asked for the bill, which was very reasonable for the meal and wine we had.
