Like most national fast food places, this Taco Bell serves up consistent, quality menu items. The staff is friendly and cheerful and everything is fresh and hot. This slows down the orders a few minutes but it's worth the extra time. Try the crunchy taco. It's my favorite here.

A family owned restaurant in the heart of Caldwell, Idaho. This restaurant has been open for 20 years and recently re-located 2 blocks down from the original location. We have the best fajitas and margaritas in town. Come give us a try!

We were looking for a good Mexican restaurant in our new neighborhood and came across Acapulco Mexican Restaurant. It had a nice atmosphere and the service was decent. They staff was friendly and a bit slow and the food was just ok compared to what I was used to in Arizona. The chicken I had in my enchilada platter was a bit dry. The margaritas were just ok. But all in all, I would try it again to see if was just that night.

I think they actually call their breakfast burritos "tacos". What ever. Three over stuffed tortillas filled with what ever you want. My son took me there. He said, "greasy spoon or mexican?" I'm not sure what greasy spoon he thought of, but Imelda's was great for breakfast. One of those local places with the sports stuff on the wall of the local college (College of Idaho, my grandkids attend as did their parents and aunt).

I happened by this cafe by chance, was hungry and decided to try their breakfast menu. I am so glad that I did! It’s an attractive cafe with delicious food and good atmosphere. The owner Luis was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros which I found tasty and prepared well, and I enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. I will be back again, and want to try their lunch menu as well. You can sit and eat or get an order to go.

"All was splendid!" was my reply - with emphasis - when Becca Alamilla, wife of and co-owner with chef Sal Alamilla, asked how my husband and I enjoyed our mid afternoon "linner". Ambiance, hospitality, service, libations and especially the Michoacan and Oaxacan regional Mexican food created by chef Alamilla in his artisan-scratch kitchen exceeded expectations we had going in given how young is this enterprise. We have enjoyed two meals at this relatively new (opened August 2019) eatery with both experiences top-notch.Whether you live in the area or are passing through Caldwell as visitor to the Snake River wine region, in which Caldwell sits, this open 7 days a week restaurant is so worth the visit. (Confirm hours with them but currently Mon - Fri lunch through dinner (11-9). Sat & Sun Brunch (9-2) followed by regular menu. Happy Hour mid afternoon weekdays.)But setting expectations is important for folks going in here. This is not one of the plethora of low priced Mexican-American huge "beef n bean burrito platter" places in the Treasure Valley (including a couple of good ones and a lot of fast food bad ones). This is a celebration of Mexican cuisine inspired by what Sal, whose family immigrated to California from Michoacan when he was 5 years old, first began to learn by paying attention to what was happening in his mom's kitchen and his dad's garden.Amano is still in way-finding mode, as new owner run restaurants can be to gauge diner response, but they are on track to be in the same league as the best of Treasure Valley artisan eateries. (My list for those includes Bacquet's in Eagle and Boise located Camel's Crossing, Lemon Tree, Madre Boutique Taqueria, Modern Bar & Restaurant, Petite 4 and Tasso. Each of those is very different from the others but what they share in common is being the best at what they do and often with an owner in the kitchen and / or front of house. Just as at Amano.)In the mode of timing is everything, Amano can be very busy at peak dining times of dinners, lunch hour and weekends at brunch and dinner. It is an artisan - scratch kitchen and good food takes time. So one might be prepared for a wait for seating at those times. But it is also possible to walk in and be seated without a wait at that "linner" spot in between lunch and dinner service...and order from the menu, and also take advantage of happy hour deals at the same time.LOVELY SPACE: In the downtown Caldwell block of Indian Creek Plaza, this was a coffee house before Amano moved in but its' original life was a bank and the interior with lots of windows and high ceilings with wooden beams hails from the original design. With this as architectural canvas, the Alamillas have created a sense of "all people are welcome" with high seating at expansive bar and comfortable standard height seating at tables, banquettes and booths. There is ample space to move about so guests do not feel like 'sardines in a can' as is so at many eateries of late. That the choice of finishes used lets the architectural assets shine isn't surprising when one knows Sal's original education was as an architect before turning to his passion for cooking. Including time as kitchen lead at Boise's Whole Foods and kitchen manager at downtown chain restaurant Eureka! as he and Becca planned for Amano.GRACIOUS HOSPITALITY & SERVICE: Warm welcome at the door followed by table service from friendly and professional staff who know the menu to answer questions and make recommendations. Perfectly attentive, we feel well tended but not hovered over. As good as it gets.INTRIGUING MENU & GLORIOUS FOOD: "We deliver a handcrafted experience." That tag line from Amano's web site may be all you need to know. With the same menu used for lunch and dinner service, it may seem small but it is mighty considering the scratch kitchen offerings from Michoacan and Oaxaca. (See menu photos posted on Yelp for the full listing.) Menu is also a work in progress as the chef considers lunch options that can get working folks in and out more quickly - in response to diner requests - as well as updating the overall menu for seasonal changes. No matter what is ordered, you win. Tortillas are hand made from in -house ground Oaxacan corn. Mole (currently a stellar Coloradito, one of the 7 best known from Oaxaca) is made in traditional style and served over top chicken and with perfectly cooked rice and tortillas ($14.50). Chips are in the form of tortillas cut in half and fried and served with a long roasted tomato and hand ground chili salsa - knock your socks off good ($3). Esquites ($6) may be the most delicious we have ever had of this corn dish. The list goes on...Prices range from $3 for the extraordinary chips and salsa to $15 for wonderful carnitas Michoacan that is served with a side of Amano's uniquely seasoned refried beans and rice plus housemade tortillas to about $20 for char grilled carne asada plate with all the fixings. (See menu photos.)LUSCIOUS LIBATIONS: Beverages include house made horchata and aqua fresca and good coffee from local roaster Flying M. The full bar offers expertly crafted and well priced ($10 - $12), top quality specialty cocktails. Also about 20 kinds of mezcal ($7 - $50), more than 20 tequilas ($7 - $30) as well as more than 20 beers on tap. Small wine list is thoughtfully designed with reds and whites by glass ($5.50 - $11) and bottle ($17 - $85) with many from the local Snake River AVA.GOOD ACCESSIBILITY: Caldwell recently - finally - added street ADA parking on this street. Level in the door, all on one level, multiple standard height seating options with clear floor space that should work for wheelchair users. Accessible loo (2) except heavy doors exceed ADA weight limit. Easy to fix with door spring adjustment.

One of the best restaurant I have ever eaten in. Truly authentic Mexican cuisine. Reminded me of a rural seafood restaurant I loved in the Yucatan that I discovered on a fishing trip. The menu reflected true Mexican recipes not the run of the mill Americanized Fare. It is frequented by locals of Mexican descent and the waitress took a second to switch to English which she spoke flawlessly . I cannot wait to go back!

The meal was cooked with so much salt, I couldn't eat it. I was also supposed to have rice and beans but none were served. The waitress was indifferent. Just a very bad experience. There's so much this place has to improve on, I won't go back. Too many other places in town that know how to cook and be pleasant.
