We had lunch there and had two soups as the first course and two main courses. They forgot our soups and brought the main courses. Then they prepared the soups and brought the also but this was a bit disturbing and they didn't even apologize for this...But on the positive side: Every food was more than excellent, really great!

Is approx 15 km from lake balaton. Is the place where they make hingarian traditional food in an hungarien old style ambiente.Is unique, very friendl as you would be home... i do travel every time thos place feom budapest and is 90 km away...Look my pics and You will know why!!!

I've been there in July after a whole day spent driving all around Hungary. I stayed in a near village (Penzesgyor.... not so easy to find a cheap hotel close to Balaton lake at the end of July) and the owner of the hotel told me to go to Marietta because the food was very good. To tell all the truth she suggested me to go to Marietta Etterem to eat a good pizza (I don't know I think why everybody thinks that all the italians can't live without pizza) but when I arrived there I decided to eat something different. Of course my son asked for a pizza with ham (I admit he liked it ). There was a very nice cold soup with tomatos and ricotta (the taste remembered me the spanish gazpacho even if without garlic). I also had a wiener schitzel and it was large and very good. I drank only lemonade (maybe 4/5 lemonade... it was very good). The price was very low, the waiters very friendly and helpful (we arrived at 9pm without any reservation because of traffic jam on the highway to Balaton lake and they found a table for us in 30 seconds). The only problem was that the menu was only in hungarian or german. I can't speak any hungarian at all, I understand just a few words in german after spending so many times in Germany and Austria but thanks God there's Google translate and a lot of dishes were made with italian ingredients so I was able to understand what's in the menu. I think it's a restaurant mainly for hungarian and german people but the team was very nice and helpful. There are some parking lots just outside the restaurant. Well... let me add that it's not so easy to find it because it's not in town center without a GPS navigation software. I think it's not a restaurant for large group because it's very quiet and there're a lot of house all around the restaurant. The prices were very low. we were 5, we have 6/7 lemonades, 1 lt mineral water, 3 wiener schnitzel pizza and so on ... we paid less than 10000 HUF more or less I think 40â¬. Definitly very good quality for price ratios. So if you are in Zirc, well... as an italian person I suggest you to go there even if you are going to have some troubles with language but don't be afraid ... the waiters and the owners will be very friendly and helpful.

We found this place just by chance. Practically in the middle of nowhere. We went for lunch, they offered a buffet (approx 10 euro), that was not bad, but we chose from the menu, it was mushroom soup and tomato soup, grilled chicken and grilled trout, plus half liter of wine, and of course i finished with a local pálinka.:) Everything was just perfect, I liked the style of the service - professional, but friendly and relaxed, that is my style.

We have got so tasty lunch there! Perfect location, just few minutes walk till Arboretum of Zirc. Very warm and simple service. There was a menu in English including dishes for children. Food not expensive and very delicious. I recommend chicken breast with dill sauce. We saw many locals coming there to lunch. Nice restaurant to lunch on the way to Balaton or before taking a walk in Arboretum. Thank you.
