Excelleny hotel ! Best choice near Bastei
Reviewed By lucRGdaPlThis is a family hotel in Hohnstein, at the very top of the town. The owner is very pleasant and really try best to make your stay comfortable. The view from the hotel ground is outstanding - a lovely little German town with a little bit of forests and stone-mountains which is popular attraction near by. There is free parking available. Breakfasts are fresh and tasty. Hotel offers also dinners. When you are in place, I recommend a little walk to explore the town. It's very small, you can walk to the small castle, the landscape is amazing (it's a bit of ghost town however). It's just 10 minutes drive from Bastei. You can also reach Hrensko in 20 minutes. The location is very good. There are many guests from Germany and I was only one from Poland, but that wasn't a problem at all because owner speaks English. I recommend it!

Beautiful setting
Reviewed By reirreugStopped at the Pension Polenztal on the Malerweg - Artist Way. The Hotel is deep in the valley beside river a perfect setting. The single bedroom was small but quite acceptable. Nice beer garden with good food and breakfast also good. The only drawback is the sound of motorbikes resounding through the valley as the Hohnstein castle is a bikers destination.

Reviewed By Ian HI love castles.....so the opportunity to stay in one was always going to be high on my list. The rooms are basic but quite comfortable and we had lovely views over the town. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good but the evening was only a buffet. The wifi was unreliable but nothing could take away my enthusiasm for a bed in the bowels of the castle. Great views and well located.

Reviewed By 226jessicDas Essen im Gasthaus war für uns super lecker. Preis Leistung wurde voll erfüllt. Auch der Gastgeber war sehr nett. Die Gastgeberin unserer Ferienwohnung, hat uns dieses Gasthaus empfohlen und nicht zu viel versprochen. Es gibt dort auch einen Raucherraum, wovon im Essensraum nicht zu spüren ist, was ich als Nichtraucher sehr angenehm und überraschend fand. Alles in allem einen Besuch wert um einen anstrengenden Tag ausklingen zu lassen.

Reviewed By Gourmet-TeufelchenFamilien Hotel was mit liebe eingerichtet ist. Wie z.B. viele Originale Bilder aus der Region. Keine Kopien wie in manch anderen großen Hotels. Freundliches Personal man fühlt sich willkommen. Gleich am Nationalpark und nicht weit entfernt von der Burg Hohenstein wo wir 3 Tage zum Mittelalterfest waren. Für den Preis war es echt super.

Good to stay for a night when hiking in Saxon Switzerland
Reviewed By Globetrotter045The hotel is in the centre of the village, but next to a quite busy road. Luckily I had a room at the back. Staff was okay, but not very cheerful. My room was spacious and clean with a mixture of furniture. Breakfast buffet was very good and the breakfast area very pleasant. A good hotel to stay for 1 night when hiking the Malerweg or other hiking trails. There is also a bus stop only 50 metres away.

Gaststube mit guter Lage aber fehlender Orientierung am Kunden!
Reviewed By MarioS3148Gaststube wirkte inmitten der sächsischen Schweiz an der historischen Rennstrecke einladend, so dass wir (9 Personen) an einem Sonntagmittag mit unseren Oldtimern anhielten. Gaststube mit Kapazität für 35 Personen war zur Hälfte gefüllt. Empfangen durch den Koch der auf seine Chefin verwies ob wir uns überhaupt setzen dürfen sehr unfreundlich! Die Chefin kam prompt erwiderte das hier „frisch gekocht“ wird und es mindestens 1h dauert. Das aus der Küche frisch zubereitet wird, freute uns natürlich und trotz des Zeitansatzes setzten wir uns. Die Chefin sichtlich gestresst und entnervt wohl nicht. Wir warteten im Anschluss 15min vergebens, dass zumindest jemand an den Tisch kommt und eine Getränkebestellung entgegen nimmt. Hier wurden wir ein weiteres mal enttäuscht und haben die Gaststätte verlassen. Aus unserer Sicht keine Empfehlung-> unfreundliches, gestresstes Personal und Gaststube war stark vernebelt aus der Küche.
