I had brunch at Le Pain Quotidien - Marina Crescent. LPQ is a rustic chic bakery overlooking the marina. I had Caprese Frittata. Caprese Frittata is baked eggs with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and spinach served with balsamic honey reduction on the side for drizzling. The size was great for one person, however, the pan was shallow, hence it was thin in width. This order was tasteless but a fancy looking dish. There was no basil flavor at all. You will see accumulating liquids in the pan (SEE photo), which led to complete flavor dilution. Unfortunately, this could be a great item for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner! Once done properly. While visiting the Promenade Mall with friends we chanced upon this dessert restaurant. It looked like a franchised concept from the west. However, while we were attended to by their friendly staff we learned it was a Kuwait-born business idea. The images of the desserts made us all excited. As I was with two other friends, we each ordered different desserts. The wait staff suggested Baby Dynamite so I took it while my friends had a lotus crepe and red velvet soufflé. The composition and flavors were very delicious and unique! The baby dynamite sure did entertain our eyes and palate. The crepe was crisp and yummy while the soufflé was light and flavorful.I definitely will hunt this place down the next time I visit Kuwait and bring more dessert-loving people along with me.Well done, you guys!
