We read the reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to give Memphis Coffee a try. We were seated straight away and given the chance to look through the menu at our leisure. The staff speak English so if you're not sure what you're ordering they can translate for you. The restaurant is kitted out in All American style, with different things playing on screens around the place (Grease, Saturday Night Fever, a retro American music channel and the building of the restaurant were playing during our visit.). Our food arrived within 8 minutes of ordering it, and it was big. I had a single Rocky burger and chips, my husband had a double Rocky burger and chips. I had a berry smoothie and he had a banana chocolate milkshake. The chips were lovely and the sauce was too. You could definitely taste the blue cheese in the burgers, which were cooked to our taste (mine well done, hubby's medium). The milkshake had a LOT of cream in it, I would say a quarter of it was thick cream so it was very filling. For dessert we shared the King of Kings. It was really good, but again HUGE and we couldn't finish it. Lots of cream again!!We'd definitely recommend a trip here, kids would love it too. We saw they get a little car with their food in instead of a normal box, which lots of them took home. Hello CampervanTravels,Thank you for taking the time to write about our restaurant !We are very pleased to hear that your experience with us has been so positive. We convey our compliments to our waiters and cooks, and they thank you very much !We hope to have the chance to welcome you again during your next visit to Calais.Thank You again!Memphis coffee Calais's Staff

Buffalo Grill

... but I'm not sure why. The steaks are some of the best you will eat anywhere. The prices are ridiculously cheap, the service is good and the menu constantly changes. The French believe that these restaurants do not reflect French cuisine (and yet they flock here, every night of the week) and the English frown upon the cowboy theme and the very successful attempts to make a grown up restaurant child friendly. There is a separate play area, birthdays are celebrated and younger diners can enjoy such delights as candyfloss on a stick.Whether you have children or not, because seating is in booths, you won't A) worry if you are a parent that your children are not behaving or B) get annoyed that your meal out is being ruined by childen.Enjoy the food and drink and smile when you receive the bill. Thanks to the staff at the restaurant who booked a taxi for our journey home.
