Reviewed By susanjL9144ZNStayed here for one night on the GR65 Chemin. Worst experience I have EVER encountered. The owner was rude and offensive. Rooms and decor dirty and shabby (think the Shining). For your sanity go elsewhere

The rooms are spacious and the service is all ome could wish . Dinner was tasty and we recommend this address .

The room was alright, could have used some refreshing (mostly the shower) but it didn’t bother us as we only stayed one night. COVID hygiene measures strictly enforced. ?

accessed through a 15th century tower, are two parts of the building which protect a peaceful outdoor space. Wood, stone, chimneys, and beams help create a sense of the past while the modern decor provides a more contemporary ambiance. Our house is located in the center of the historic quarter and surrounded by beautiful lanes of the old city of Le Puy-en-Velay.

Reviewed By Larry RSuper location for walking around the old city. Very cool 15th century vibe in the place with modern art elements that blended beautifully. Very nice hosts with excellent English. Particularly appreciated a last minute change to a lower level room when the hosts noted our struggles with the circular staircase and baggage. Free parking a block away and good info on how to find it via booking.com email. WiFi good enough for streaming (on lower courtyard level). Basic breakfast. · Not for the physically challenged. Very solid bed (though it's true that it's pretty standard in France). Do communicate with the hosts before arrival re whether stairs will be an issue and whether a less hard bed is preferred (they apparently have one upstairs).

Reviewed By Charles VNever trust the pictures or fotos published on the site. The reality was complete different. Almost impossible to reach the hotel with a car. A lot of stairs in order to reach the location. Last but not least, our room was on the third floor without lift. Only a dark narrow staircase. A small window, no sight, the nose close to the wall of the neighbours. We left the hotel immediately !!!!!

The setting is extraordinarily peaceful--well worth the minor detour. Sylvie and Thierry are excellent hosts who manage to create the illusion that nothing is too much trouble for them. In addition, Sylvie is an exceptional cook and uses the freshest of ingredients, all perfectly prepared. (Thierry bakes the bread!) Our stay here was one of the highlights of our 2-week walking trip.

"Once upon a time...In a village of Auvergne, a lively inn, full of happy moments. This inn, in the center of Blesle (Haute-Loire, french department), medieval borough, one of the most beautiful villages of France, at few kilometers of A75 motorway, it’s La Bougnate.
Stunning meal prepared by fantastic host
Reviewed By Joesef63We arrived in Blesle in the early evening and were lucky enough to be able to book a table for two at La Bougnate. I cannot understate the quality of the food but what we will remember most is the genuine warm welcome and hospitality of our host Dominique Dubray who provided us with a fantastic 3 course meal and insisted we try some of the local Verbena liquor as a digestive! I cannot speak for the rooms as we were staying elsewhere, but you will find it difficult to experience a meal of this quality in such a fantastic setting.

People here know how to welcome guests because they are deeply generous and they just want to share what make them proud : their local genuine culture of hospitality based on tradition revisited with audacious creativity (interior architecture is a mix of wood, stones and metal organised in a very designed way). Cherry on the cake : all the team is sincerely service oriented and naturallly kind. One of the best place to stay in Haute Loire !
