The Aspendis is, according to the menu headlines, a steak house, pizzeria, cafe and an italian ice cream bar. I will add on my own account texmex, fish and Pakistani food. Theese kind of places where you can get anything you want are seldom good at everything they produce. When you get here you will probably get the feeling that they are mostly Italian. The staff are danish italian and, well you just get the feeling. You also get a kind off tipped off by the logo which has a drawing of the Colosseo in Rome. We orderered a marguerita pizza and stjerneskudd from the grill a long with cola zero. The pizza was clearly made a good, stone owen. The stjerneskudd was likewise made with love in a frying pan. We liked it here.

En stopp underveis nordover for litt mat viste seg å være meget vellykket. En flott kro, en meget koselig restaurant, og mat i topp-klasse etter min mening. Vi bestilte "stjerneskudd", det største og mest innholdsrike "stjerneskuddet" vi har spist i Danmark. Flere typer fisk, masse tilbehør på toppen, delikat innrettet, kort sagt meget bra! Og absolutt akseptabel pris for maten. D.kr. 306,- inkl. drikke. Stedet kan absolutt anbefales for en vellykket stopp for et måltid mat.

Sammen med venner fra området besøgte vi Mou Hotel.
Hotellet var fyldt af gæster som ønskede nyde den gode mad , og bakke op om de unge mennesker fra Produktionsskolen som fortjener en uddannelse. Besøget var en god oplevelse . Maden var velsmagende og servicen fra de unge mennesker god og opmærksom. Alt i alt en god men anderledes oplevelse som vi kan anbefale.

Hals is a small town, which is busy in Summer and very quiet in winter. It is difficult to have a business that is good all year round, so Havkatten seems to be doing something right. The food hear is standard danish pub/bistro style with the usual selection of danish favorites, and a good selection of fare to appeal to the many German holiday makers in the Summer.
Havkatten is not gourmet, but it is also not so expensive. Portions are very big, so it is a struggle to have 3 courses there. Service is friendly but can be a little slow if they are really busy. On our visit we had fish and veal main course, both of which were nice, but not fantastic. However, given the price level, good value. They have a good wine selection and even offer half bottles which is nice if you are alone or just not too thirsty.
The restaurant is right on the water and easy to get to. If you are a holidaying in Hals, worth a visit.

Rustic, charming, meet the locals, god beer on bottle and on tap at very good prices.
Dont know about food, maybe they dont have any.
Dont miss out on the mini-bingo game "Døde duer" played every Saturday. Great fun!
Ps - if you dont like cigarette smoke you will have to sit outside because there's really heavy smoking going on inside.

We visited this as a party of 24 for a 60th birthday party / dinner. The owners and the staff could not of been more helpful or hospitable, and good company. They suggested a buffet-style dinner, which turned out to be delicious. Thank you for looking after us so well.
I hope we can visit again in daytime in the summer and see the thatched, 1552AD building in daylight. The atmosphere inside was as charming as the owners, and I'm sure the outside will match.
A little jewel in the top north-east corner of Denmark.

Meget dæmpet belysning. Mit første indtryk var at der var lukket.
Bowling ligger i tilslutning til Restauranten. Nogle af de borde som er i bowlingcenteret blev brugt til skiftning af ble børn, hvilket ikke er så lækkert. Personalet så det men gjorde ikke noget.
Da vi var færdige med at bowle, så slukkede personalet lystet inden vi var gået ( og nej det lukker vel ikke kl 16 ).
Pris og kvalitet hænger på ingen måde sammen.
Ta til Ålborg og bowl der, der får du mere value for money,

Carl Frederik is a grill bar - so don't expect gourmet. Hot dogs, Fish, burgers etc are the order of the day. The service is friendly - but most of the time you need to collect your own food which is not unusual.
The hot dogs are great and the french fries are even better. Beer is available and there is an ice cream bar there as well. A nice place to have a snack while passing through Hals.

The place was a large room with a partial view overlooking the harbour. It had a very empty atmosphere. The food was as expected, but we didn't see to much of any Waffels. If in Hou and hungrey, stop in for a quick snack, but no need to turn away from the main road to try this. Service was good.
