Frites pas assez cuites ==> Blanches de chez Blanches , pas grasse mais pas cuites . Pour le reste c'est comme partout rien de bien spécial .
The Grand Place at Soignies sadly doesn't make even the second eleven of Belgium's central market squares - despite its fine ancient church, St Vincent's, which straddles one side of the square. There are only a couple of eating options on the square and La Regence is one of them. At the time of writing the pavement under the outside eating area was dug up for repairs. Also, there was a bit of car traffic next to the restaurant, but on the plus side it was in full shade on a hot spring day and it was nice watching the congregation emerge from the church from a first communion service the Sunday we were there. Unsmiling and rather abrupt service from our waiter. Nevertheless, he was reasonably efficient, and my omelette was just right ('baveuse' the way the French do them - runny). The pickled herring was less appetising. Good chips, cold draught Stella and reasonable coffee. The bill came to â¬47 for two. Place Verte, below the church, was less trafficky and had a couple of nice-looking outdoor restaurants which we'd opt for if we ever went back.

Certainly a new âPlace to beâ at Soignies. In a warm atmosphere, this house shares his art of entertaining with art and culture, always cherished with a musical touch.
We eat here on a regular basis. There is a good salad menu, maybe 8 different kinds, plus another dozen or so entrees, an ever-changing 3 or 4 specials, and a pretty good beer selection. Interior is the old cloth hall of Soignies, trading in wool and fabrics that probably put taxes into the pocket of Henry VIII. There's a rotating display of art on the walls; they seem to feature a different artist every couple of months. Outside seating in the new, enclosed patio the town finished in 2011; great view of the church and center of town, gets good sun in the afternoon. Staff are friendly and speak some English, and are good with kids - they know what my six-year old has every time, so we're asked if it's "the usual?". Also pretty easy to get a seat, but at the same time it is usually full - must be the jumping-off place for the rest of the night with a quick rotation.

When we visit my in laws we always get our Frites from here. There is very quick service and the portions are huge and keenly priced. There is a very wide choice and the staff are pleasant. Can be a little busy at peak time on Friday or Saturday.... But that's a good sign. Would thoroughly recommend.

We went to eat here quickly before our meeting that we had in Soignies. Pizza was not the best in my life, but eatable. Pasta was quite fine. On top of that, service was quick and efficient.

Great option for sandwiches in Soignies area. Fresh ingredients, wide variety of choice, just excelent. If you decide to eat in there, you can taste different local food, a bit for every taste. When the weather permits, you can go on the terrace.Expect a familial atmosphere, surrounded by friendly staff and guests. Parking in front (on the street) or in the back of the restaurant.!!! Book you table if you want to eat you lunch !!! As the place is small, you risk to find all seats taken.NOTE- closed during the first 3 weeks of August 2016

Enjoyed a lovely lunch on the sunny patio. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. My husband enjoyed his lamb and I ordered a special salad which included white asparagus and thinly sliced ham. So good. But the best part of the meal was the frozen Grand Marnier soufflé which was absolutely decadent. Yum.

We went as a family of 4. A very friendly place, the staff were great fun, especially with the kids. I ate moules frites, they were fantastic. The others ate steak, also good although the bearnaise could have been better. Nice crêpes. For the money this place is great.
