I went with my little daughter for lunch and was not disappointed. The friendly waitress said the place specialized in "Chupes" (Seafood stews using breadcrumbs and cheese cooked in the oven), so I went for "Chupe de Ostiones" (Scallops). Scallops are the local highlight in Tongoy - they are cultivated in the sea pools next to the port and are nowhere fresher than in Tongoy. Try some fresh scallops at the stands in front of the peer if you like.
Long story short, the Chupe was excellent and full of fresh scallops. The rest of the meal: Ensalada Chilena (tomatoes and onions) for me, and steak and fries for my daughter, were all well prepared and fresh.
Service was quick and the prices are reasonable. A good experience.

... Para quienes buscan una picada con platos grandes y buenos precios.
Empanadas ricas, pero pequeñas; platos sabrosos, pero pequeños (ver foto de ostiones a 6.900), ceviche en una copa a 7.500.
Lo único que me gustó es que está casi frente al mar, pero no vale la pena pagar vs los platos tipo "degustación".
Además tienen, al parecer, un tipo de convenio con trabajadores de la caleta y habían adentro al menos 3 mesas comiendo cazuela, lo que no debiera ser la orientación del negocio.
Problemas al ejecutar el pago tb.
En fin, me desagrada sentirme estafado, por eso la gente prefiere ir al mercadito. Para la otra, en 20 años más.

El Suizo is a bunch of small family run seafood restaurants that share a Seating area. The food is typical chilean seafood, good quality fish, simple preparations and presentations. Ask what fish they have fresh and available before you order. Machas a la parmesana were excellent. It can be a little hard to figure out where to sit down or which local to order from. I did get sick from this food however, but I think it was because I ordered tuna, which was not fresh. But I would go again without any concern.

Arrived past peak lunch hour, you could see they had been busy. We chose this point in time to avoid overcrowding and with the hope of getting better service. Not the case. We requested some Appetizers, empanadas and ostiones a la parmensana (Parmesan Scallops) and it took 30-40 minutes for the empanadas to arrive, they forgot the ostiones, that ended up arriving with some of the dishes, they tasted fine, but in their hurry they didn't grill the cheese and some of them were cold or lukewarm. Two dishes arrived with their side orders, one didn't (took 20 minutes to get it, when the main dish was almost finished), one of the dishes arrived 15 minutes after all the others. We were forced to grab hold of any random waiter as the ones that had first served us disappeared and never came back.
This restaurant would deserve a One, but the quality of the fish and shellfish is very good. Service just makes the experience a bad one that you end up not enjoying anything. Get your act together Costa Tongoy! Never going back.

Hoy fuimos a almorzar a este restaurant.
Se nota que abrió hace poco ya que les faltan varias cosas partiendo por la carta. Tienen una barra con shops pero no tienen los barriles.
Finalmente el mesera nos contó la carta y pedimos un ceviche estilo peruano bastante abundante y rico (le falto el choclo y camote) y un lomo salteado que tambien era abundante y rico.
Tenían tambien muy buenos jugos naturales.
Al pedir postre no tenían pero sugirieron helados de la cafetería del lado. Finalmente ellos lo consiguieron (mas fácil decir q tienen y evitar los detalles).
Todo esto a un buen precio.
Por lo que creo que en un par de meses va a ser muy bueno.
