We were recommended this by one of the Neilson staff and it did not disappoint. We sat watching the sun set looking out over the beach. The waitress (probably the owner) gave great advice and recommendations. The bonus of the garlic bread was a surprise - be warned it is strong! We had a lovely meal very reasonably priced. Only improvement would have been the service but that is because we didnât want to hang around!

My 1st choice when it comes for a beach.The beach is really nice, the waters are crystal clean and quite hot tempered.The bar is offering for free the umbrellas for the whole day, and you 've got to eat the souvlaki over there.It has been ages since I ate such a souvlaki, as the guys of the Helona beach bar really gave their best to choose the best meat in the area to offer that kind of souvlaki.The coffee is also really good.Quality on food, very cheap and good service, combined with very nice view, Greek Sun and beach.Of course don't expect to be served like in a junk food restaurant. Remember: you are in vacations and time is not important.Take your time.

We were driving back from Koroni to Kalamata when I saw a sign indicating there was a restaurant on a side road which led us to Hellas. Officially they were closed but the lady who I'm sure was the owner said she could make us a Greek Salad which was excellent and of course she had beer in the fridge. So everyone was happy and we would like to go back again when they are officially open.There is one thing about this restaurant I have never seen anywhere else and I am 77. They have at least one nest of swallows (the little birds that build nests usually on walls and always from mud. That in itself is not unusual because in Hungary, for example, swallows are like sacred and no one will forgive anyone who harms them. But in this restaurant there is a large fan (I took a video but I don't know it would impress the health authorities) and these little guys sit on top of the fan and guess what happens? I leave it to your imagination but there is a classic expression for it. I don't think they would turn the fan on when there are guests so don't worry about it.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We have eaten here 2 years running whilst staying at nearby Neilson Messini Beachclub. There are three local Tavernas within walking distance and this is our favourite. Always a warm welcome. Tasty Greek food - the honeyed halloumi is a must! They use their own olive oil. And they provide free desserts. We'll be back.

My wife & I called in for a dinner one evening whilst on a weeks break in Chrani.We were lucky in getting a table at the front with sea views. Good friendly service in this busy restaurant.Specialises in fresh fish and the crazy water sea bream was very tasty.Lovely meal was had and would certainly return if in the area again.

We dropped in at an awkward time (15:30), and the couple tending the estaurant alerted their young English-speaking relative to wait for us. He showed us the available food in the kitchen, and we really liked it. The favourite was the imam like combo of aubergine, feta, tomato sauce - just awesome! The service was also perfect, the toilet tidy, and everything enjoyable.THANK YOU for your good words...!!!

We stopped by this small town when our kids were dying for some pizza. This was the place where we adults can still order authentic Greek dishes while they had pizza. The calzone was really good because the crust was not too thick, perfectly brown and came with green peppers, ham, a nice variety of vegetables. The homemade eggplant parmesan was fabulous. The waiter didn't speak that much English, but he was really helpful, not pushy. This was one of the nice places we went to in Greece that wasn't too touristy, meaning not full of tourists and where the Greeks were overwhelmed by tourists. There was a playground nearby where our kids played with local kids.

A very casual restaurant 30 metres from the town square. Simple menu, and all the better for it! Lovely complementary taster of perfectly ripe tomatoes and soft goatâs cheese. We had one ouzo, two small carafes of white wine, Greek salad, fresh cut fried potatoes and shared a whole grilled fish all for â¬30!!

Weâve been there and enjoyed food, which obviously was prepared with passion! Traditional meatballs, filet of seabass or a simple burger (our son was impressed!) - everything above local average! Not to forget local desserts and local wine - all for reasonable money. Weâll try to come back!
