We are about ready to make our annual road trip to Mel's Diner! There is always 8 to 12 of us and we enjoy the staff, great food~hearty servings, and total friendliness of Mel's. The food is always wonderful to kick off our beach stay. So excited to see you folks again next Saturday, May 20th. You'll know the "Fedesco clan" when you see 'em coming..LOL

The service was ok but the food was terrible. The over very light eggs were fried hard and the scrambled eggs were like rubber. There were no onions in the potatoes and the sausage was not browned just pale and warm. We were served 1...MoreLou, We take negative responses very seriously. Delicious food, ample quantity, and friendly service is our mantra for 12+ years. We invite you to return asap as our guest. We want your dining experience to exceed 5 stars.

Butts up against a gas station so it is quite small and not a large selection but enough of the basic varieties. The young lady taking our order did her job correctly but a smile or a bit cordial would have made the experience more pleasant. coffee and donuts were super as always.

The donuts at Duck donuts are different than most . They are cake donuts that are iced and decorated to your individual taste. Duck donuts are a wonderful treat. They taste great!

The food was good but you cook it yourself, you pick it up yourself and you clean up after yourself...Its more like an overpriced grocery store in a can, which rusts if left outside. Be careful when purchasing too 20 dollars turns into 100 real quick. Great concept but be wary.

My husband and I ate there for the first time last night. It was incredibly good! I had their filet that was on special, as I was tired of seafood, it was fabulous. Recommend calling a few days ahead for reservation, we called 2 hours in advance, we got a res, but it was at the bar. Great service, too!

Stopped here around 11am on a Saturday, diner was super busy so we had to sit outside in the covered enclosed picnic area. Waitress was quick and attentive. Lunch menu was average with decent prices. Kids hot dogs and fries were good, but the adult grilled chicken sandwich was a bit chewy. As many have discussed there are monster truck rides for $5 @ person, there is a height requirement, but my small 3 year old made the cut. On site store for truck toys and goodies. There is also another store that sells snacks, fruits, drinks, and local treats. In thr back of that store there is a gem digging area where you sift a bag of dirt to find crystals, kids actually loved that, bags of dirt and gems were about $8 and they got a decent amount of crystals, quartz, etc. Would definitely recommend and stop here again

If you like microbrews, you'll love this place. We ordered a flight for $10, got to try everything. She had a beet salad and squash soup...both excellent. I had a Reuben & it was very tasty, loved the fresh fries. $36 for everything...best value we've found around obx so far. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service.

We ordered takeout a few months ago. I gotta say the pizza is very tasty and a nice find in the small town of Grandy buttttt I can't say I got much bang for my buck. We received a large specialty pizza which was supposed to come with alot of meat toppings and some veges. I can't remember the exact name of the pizza. The crust was quite good and the pizza was tasty however for the $25 price tag it was definitely lacking on toppings. In fact some slices had little to no meat whatsoever on them. For what we paid I felt the pizza-maker could have been a bit more generous. Hopefully we will get lucky on our next visit.

Chef Joe prepares the best food! His careful preparation and presentations are culinary masterpieces! The usual, but spectacular plate, has layering involved with amazing pops of flavors. His style is incredible. Most times people boast about entrees or desserts at their favorite restaurant. But for me to boast about vegetables!? Chef Joe prepares veggie starters that are so remarkable. Like the broccolini with squash, layered and seasoned with an Indian flare. OMG. Not forgetting that dish for a long, long time. Many at our table enjoyed his delicious preparation of the special fish, rockfish, while others ordered chicken, pork chops and NY Strip. All plates were clean. Oh and a taste of my friends catfish appetizer was such a tasty delight! Thanks Jen & Joe for bringing your incredible talents to our beach!
