Great hotel in a great location
Reviewed By Duncan281My wife and I were staying at the hotel for three days in May while we explored the Grande Cache area. The hotel makes a very comfortable base for doing this. The rooms are suites with a bedroom, bathroom and a separate sitting room/kitchen. Plenty of space. Our room was at the front of the hotel and had terrific views over the mountains which were white topped. Comfortable bed and nice clean room. Restaurant is separate owned and is very good, great breakfast and very friendly staff. The hotel also has coffee available free all the time in reception. Public area and rooms were kept warm which was much appreciated as there was a cold snap. When we arrived technical issues meant the lift was not working and the restaurant was closed but this was corrected the next day. Very good value for the standard of the hotel. Staff all very helpful. When back in Grande Cache we will definitely stay there.

Room with a View
Reviewed By Jodi GJust returned from a 4 day stay at Grande Mountain Lodge. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside the rooms are actually well equipped & clean. I was most impressed by the fact the rooms are not carpeted but had hardwood floors. Our room had a small kitchenette & a maid came everyday to make the bed & replace bathroom towels. The view from our room was also spectacular! I would stay here again.

Reviewed By THEGIEZSo much to say………. My family arrived Xmas Night after traveling for 12 hours. Joanne had setup a decorated Xmas tree,complete with a bottle of wine…..waiting for us in our main suite. She picked up a huge turkey and defrosted it perfectly for us so we could have Xmas supper. Both suites were spotless…….. I could go on and on…….. Thank you. ?

Heavy smell of cigarette smoke / body odor
Reviewed By heartsierraWhile this place looks clean and neat and Cherry is a good host, I had an uncomfortable stay and had to check out after the first night for 2 reasons: 1) The upstairs where the guest rooms are located reeks of cigarette smoke and body odor. I had booked an non-smoking room and ironically there was a "No Smoking" sign in my room. However, even with the window open at night, I couldn't sleep at all; the cigarette smoke smell was just saturated in the air. 2) Her husband was lounging in the common area with boxer shorts only the whole time. As a solo female traveler and the only guest in the house, it was inappropriate and creepy. I got no sleep that night and packed my stuff up at 5am to move to a local motel. At HD View, you have to share a bathroom and the kitchen. For the same rate, at the motel, I got my own bathroom and kitchenette.

Clean older hotel.
Reviewed By SeeTheWorldJamesThis hotel is a basic, non-luxury, hotel and we had a room with a kitchenette. It is a place that you stay, checkout, and go buy some breakfast (unless you want to cook something). It did the job and was a good value for us.
