I visited this restaurant a few days back on some friends recommendation. I was glad I went there for lunch , although alone . The place serves very authentic Bengali Food besides some other continental dishes .Having lived in Kolkatta for a couple of years , I am quite familiar with the Mustard cooking & I can say without any hesitation that it was one the best Macher Jhool with rice , I have ever had . And so was Mishti Doi - very nice & crisp and with the right sweetness and flavor . Overall , a very good experience .Hi 52SRA, Thanks for your kind words. Everything we had was good, especially the beef carpaccio, salmon tartlets and home-made mascarapone gelato.The owner Mario will make recommendations, just say yes to whatever he suggests, even the scarpetta (literally means little shoe for some reason but is actually freshly baked bread) at the end to mop up the olive oil and sauces on your plate. The chef is his wife Simona whom you will probably want to thank a million times during your meal. A very, very satisfying meal!

The place is simple yet rustic and some of the dishes in the english breakfast menu are must try. The seating is open with temporary covered roof, which was leaking at few spots upon my visit as it was rainy season. The taste of the dishes is really authentic and portion size is adequate. The breakfast is not heavy either on stomach or on pocket.The menu ranges from Egg, Pork, Fish, Sausages and vegetarian. They even have a small shop for some souvenir shopping.Many thanks for the nice review. We do not serve any non-vegetarian dishes and are primarily vegetarian apart from serving eggs and tuna. The food is brilliant, the tenderloin was perfectly cooked and the chicken was just perfectly spiced. The chef came out and spoke to us personally and made sure everything was perfect. Jamies is a cab ride from baga beach around 300 rupees.The menu is quite extensive and will suit all needs and tastes with traditional sausage and mash to a typical Goan curry. Our food was served very quickly, I had chicken curry, rice with cheese & garlic nan it was a perfect sized portion and hotness. (they ask how hot you would like it) My fellow traveler had prawn curry and they were as equally satisfied with their meal. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. they do a nice selection of cocktails but we shared a bottle of house wine @1900 rupess (In Goa wine is expensive in comparison to the UK) only downside for me personally was lack of ambiance maybe some back ground music would change that. We could hear every customers conversations.

Assagao is a nice quiet village and with beautiful age-old Portuguese houses converted as Guest Houses,where we stayed for New Year.Bristo was just walking distance from our Villa and the decoration for Xmas and New Year was very pleasing.We had a nice lunch and they served varieties to our Grandkids' Choice! A lovely Restaurant with nice clean Toilets and Premises. Excellent food and Service. Nice tasty food although quite spicy for some tastes so ask for mild if in doubt. Quite a busy place so may need to book in advance. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.
