Myself and my partner stopped in Dufftown and found this little place near the Clock Tower. The menu looked really tasty and we were greeted very warmly by both a female waitress and the chef/owner. Really friendly staff on a quiet Friday lunchtime but it was quite nice that we had lots of attention. We had the mixed seafood platter to start which was delicious, and the homemade pie and calzone which were really tasty and so fresh. Anyone in the area should stop by!

We arrived without a reservation and were greeted with a smile and treated very well. We enjoyed the Scottish specialty menu items, including the Haggis (our first try of this dish) and Black pudding... both excellent. Some reviewers are complaining about the Eastern European server... we found him to be charming and funny. We would definitely eat here again! The world's largest bottle of scotch whiskey can be found here as well... selfie op!

We stopped in for breakfast when passing through Grantown. The breakfast roll was a bit dry but the full breakfast was reasonably good, service was cheerful and we thought it was a comfortable place to stop before continuing on. Popped in for a couple of pints as I was staying locally. Friendly enough service, comfortable bar area with tv and big comfy couches. I noticed a separate area for dining which is a good idea. Tried the local Cairngorm ale on tap which was...MorePity you missed out on the food as we are told our chef is making a positive impact (menus have also changed). Hope to see you again!

A group of five adults, we were delivered here by our guide while touring Speyside Distilleries. So glad we had the time and this is the location he uses. The food was amazingly good and served promptly. We tried the house burger- the Mash Tun, the chicken on baguette with red pesto & cheese, the beef and aged Cheddar on a baguette and the brie tart with beetroot. All were exceptional and very flavourful. Great value for your money, great staff...just an all round good place to eat that should not to be missed.

This bar/restaurant haz a lovely feel about it. There is a small bar with an open fire. Speciality food..pies. A variety of pies to choose from including vegetarian fillings. The supplier provides the uncooked pies and the bar cook them. We were told exactly how long we would need to wait before we could eaf right from the start. All pies served with chips anx and cost about £7.25ish. Beans and gravy cost extra. Tbe pies are to die for.

Great pies, loved the mushy peas. Unpretentious food with good quality, double- fried crisps, just what we needed after a long day travelling. Owners were very nice, had great recommendations for us whiskey newbees. What initially comes across as rough bar talk is just the way people here have a direct attitude and a prickly sense of humour. Loved it, felt very welcome! The interior decor is very unique and quirky too. Not your average pub and not for you if you are looking for a restaurant dining experience. For us it was exactly riggt

We are a family run bar and resraurant set in the heart of whisky country. We have over 240 whiskies including some very rare bottles! We have local real ale on draught and bottles. Beer garden, pool, darts, jukebox, sky sports and BT sports. Open till late!

We were short on time heading to another scheduled whisky tour and the staff was great at getting us in and out quickly. Haggis was excellent as was the fish and chips.

The Delnashaugh Hotel is located in the heart of Speyside on the Ballindalloch Estate next to the River Avon(Pronounced A'an). The hotel has 8 double/twin ensuite rooms and 1 single room. There is a comfortable, well stocked bar and lounge and a well appointed restaurant. There is ample parking and we accept pets in some areas of the hotel (Please enquire beforehand). WiFi is available in most parts of the hotel. Non residents are welcome to use the Bar & Restaurant. The hotel is situated in a prime location for salmon fishing, stalking, golfing and walking on the Speyside way. We have some of the world's most famous Distilleries on our doorstep such as The Glenlivet, Glenfarclas, Cragganmore or the picturesque Tormore. It is only a 30 minute drive to the Lecht ski center, Aviemore and The Cairngorms National Park.

We spend a week fishing and quite a lot of the evenings at the Delnashaugh, drinking and eating. The atmosphere is relaxed, the welcome warm, the staff friendly and efficient. The drink selection wide, both whiskey and Gin among others. The food choice varied with generous portions at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit. Sadly Russell & Mo will be greatly missed when they leave at the end of the season.

The Dowans Hotel is a beautiful family run hotel, the property is decorated to a high standard, and the grounds offer outdoor Seating.
We had a lovely meal in Restaurant 57. The Still Room is amazing with 500 different whiskys.
A visit is highly recommended
The hotel also has an interesting history.
We look forward to a return visit.

Whatever you do and no matter how hungry you are, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME going to this tearoom. It is truly ghastly!! We were staying nearby and needed some breakfast before heading off to a distillery tour. Upon arriving, we were told "the menu's on the wall", which seemed a bit strange but we looked anyway and both my wife and I decided to order bacon rolls. My wife was paying and she asked if they took debit cards - "oh we'll have to charge you 60p for that" - what a joke!! Whilst our drinks were being prepared, I went to get milk, sauces and cutlery - again, another Shambles. They offer no fresh milk - only little UHT cartons, which are terrible. They charge 20p per sauce portion - what a total rip-off, so we bypassed those and then noticed the real sting in the tail - 50p to use the toilet if you are a non-customer!! It was clear at this point who we were dealing with - a real Scrooge character!! When our breakfast arrived, we were served with a half-cooked, shop-bought, pathetic-looking baguette that had been rammed with bacon. This wasn't at all what we had ordered as we wanted a bacon roll, so we queried this with their so-called 'chef' and he said that's what they served. The experience was a total disaster from start to finish (£11.55 for two 'rolls' and two drinks!) and upon us heading to leave, I challenged the owner. I said he was false advertising by selling customers baguettes as rolls, to which he said we were the first to complain (which we know not to be true having seen the reviews on here). I then challenged him about the toilet charge, which I said was generally frowned upon in Scotland. He didn't seem to care at all and then to make matters worse, a nosey local decided it was her place to chip in and said that "we didn't need to stay then." Seriously - do not go here! The service is disgraceful, the food is awful and mis-advertised, the decor resembles a dungeon, it's massively over-priced and it's generally woeful. No wonder the place is up for sale and to be honest, the sooner it is sold, the better. Almost anyone with some common sense and some manners in dealing with the general public could make a better job of things than the rank amateurs who are currently running this place!!
