Reviewed By PharatelleWe arrived at this hotel during a memorable downpour so we were thrilled to see some light through the reception door. When we walked in, there was a wood fire burning in the lobby fireplace which could not have offered a better warmer welcome. The hotel is relatively old which constitutes its charm. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is eager to help. The dinner restaurant is a short walk behind the hotel whilst breakfast is served in a bright room within the hotel. This is a place that we will never forget and we hope that you have the chance to enjoy it as much as we did.

It is located in a place where you can travel to lots of nice views (by car), really close to the lake and has a really nice vibe. Most of the staff don't speak English, except for the man (I don't know his name) who was very helpful with lots of good tips. The staff was very nice, the rooms were clean and the view is amazing. Breakfast was also very good. Very good value for money, I would definitely recommend anyone to go there.

Would recommend for all travelers who want a clean and quiet location with a great view of the valley.

The entries were very good, but the meal itself was very well cooked, the meat was tasty and soft, it was the best meal of the little vacations that we took!

Reviewed By BogdanVJMe and my girlfriend spent more than a week in this hotel this March, and we were honestly pleasantly impressed with the hosts, as well as the cleanliness and overall condition of the hotel. Moderna do Geres is a family-owned hotel, and the two owners, husband and wife, proved to be very good hosts, providing us with all that we needed to make our stay a nice experience. The hotel is an honest hotel, with a fairly generous breakfast, nothing fancy, but, nevertheless, in terms of cleanliness, it's very well taken care of, and, as a result, highly recommendable. At night, you will be able to enjoy the pleasant fire place in the lobby and drink a glass of wine, as the sound of burning logs will slowly send you to sleep. All in all, I recommend this hotel for when you want to spend some days in Geres and want to be sure you choose a quality place to stay.

Great comfortable clean hotel at very reasonable price

The service was excellent, they saved the room for us after our phonecall without asking for a credit card, The room was nice and comfortable, clean and airy. Breakfast was good and wholesome. Location is excellent. I would highly recommend the place especially if you take into account the price we paid.

It is a unique place for those who are looking for nature, adventure, ancestral activities, or tranquility. The Hotel has 23 rooms with balcony and views to the mountains, equipped with private bathroom, TV and central heating. You can relax in the living rooms with fireplace and bar, meeting rooms, equipped with audiovisual, garden and terrace where a refreshing drink or even breakfast can be taken, dining room overlooking the mountains ; internet signal free , free parking. The common areas are attractive to stay with the family and friends.
Quaint - 2 Star with lots of Possibilities
Reviewed By jim bOur plan was stay 3 nights in Geres so we could explore the Peneda-Geres National Park. Please know this is a 2 star lodging where the rooms are not AC, the beds are extremely hard and breakfast nice but simple. We were fortunate to meet the owner a few mornings she was very kind and informative. The rest of the staff seemed very busy and focused on their tasks and no so much about helping us figure out best places to visit. The local tourist office have many recommendations and maps journey. This is a huge National Park different from the USA it does require you have a car to explore which we had. We found out on our last day about the local pools and spas even if you don't stay you can pay a daily fee. Aguas do Geres - Hotel, Termas & Spa. This is a very quaint village and we probably should have only stayed two nights and explored more of the Park to the north. No regrets at all. If you go to this area be sure to go to the Casa Capel for a wonderful meal. We also spent our time at the pub below the Baltazar Hotel we really enjoyed the Portugal beer Super Bock and this location offered us a great beer at the end of our day.
