Recently visited Southern Pit for lunch. We had the small pulled pork lunch plate with crackling cornbread and cole slaw. The food was outstanding. Actually, I judge most barbecue restaurants by this place. Their signature barbecue sauce is my favorite the world over and the same goes for their cole slaw and cornbread. I was sorry that I didnât have room for their desserts with are always delish too!

Hubby and I decided to eat here for our wedding anniversary. We both had a hankering for barbecue and wanted to try some place new. So we decided to try Juicy's. Are we glad we did! It's a little hole in the wall place, but that helps to keep the cost down. Also, it is strictly a pick-up place. You can eat outside on a picnic table but it is behind the smoker and the wind would need to be blowing away from the smoker to sit there. Both my husband and I had the six rib and two sides platter. The portions were very generous--had we known how much meat was on the ribs, we would have gotten the 3 rib dinner. The ribs had more meat on them than any other ribs we have eaten anyplace else, such as Longhorn's or Chili's. I had cole slaw and baked beans; my husband had the cole slaw and potato salad. Everything tasted great. My beans were a bit different, made with white and kidney beans, with cooked sweet green/red peppers mixed in, along with onions. I don't like peppers, but I do like the flavor they add to the meal. The meals came with four slices of white bread each, which we didn't know we would get, or we would have told them "no bread". Be warned. We got two large bowls of delicious barbecue sauce with our order. The sauce is as good as any from a jar--it may come from one, for all we know. The cole slaw and potato salad were very good, especially the potato salad. The lady who took our order was kind and very friendly. We were very happy with our meal, even though we had to eat at our own house. On our anniversary. But hey, we were happy, our tummies were happy, and I didn't have to cook, so it was a win-win situation. Bottom line--only get the three rib and two sides dinner, unless you are 6'4" and built like a linebacker. OR get one 6 rib platter with two sides and split it. The three rib dinner and two sides should be plenty for most people. Juicy's also sells barbecue chicken and sausage and combos are available.

We love Shane's BBQ, especially the ribs. The sweet potato fries are off the chain. But this location has especially friendly staff that always serves with a smile and goes out of their way to make sure every aspect of our dining experience is pleasant. Great job!

My wife, MIL, and 17-yo triplets ate here on a Sunday evening at 900pm. There were many disappointing aspects of this dining experience:1) our server knew nothing about beer; and when I asked the bartender if there were any Hefeweizens or local brews, he had to ask another bartender for help in answering the question (at an "ale house"?);2) it took us 15 minutes to get the beer and wine we ordered; 3) our server forgot two items and got one meal wrong; and4) the wing sauce did not live up to the hype.Admittedly, the food is above-average, but it's really just like any other chain restaurant.
