Gallarate [ɡallaˈraːte] (Lombard: Galaraa) is a city and comune of Alto Milanese of Lombardy and of Milan metropolitan area, northern Italy, in the Province of Varese. It has a population of some 54 thousand people. Its name comes from Latin, in fact a lot of cities around it have the same root "rate", such as Casorate Sempione, Samarate, etc.

Genuine Osteria as the name suggest. Fresh ingredients and good preparation. With an eye on cost, they offer a fix menu for lunch with some choices or specialities from the kitchen. They have a menu divided in days. Funny but effective. No surprises here. Unlike to happen you reject a dish. It is just as good as it looks.
Well done guy.
Service is quick and polite. Everybody with a smile on the face. Price is super affordable. Even too cheap compared to the quality, but... hey, good for us :)

We came to this restaurant as a result of the tripadvisor ratings and comments and we were not left disappointed. In fact it's a very charming and cosy restaurant which serves delicious food. The starters we were given (we didn't chose) were delicious and the dishes of the day as well (with homemade pasta). The service was fast and the staff very friendly and helpful. Try the homemade liquors at the end. At the end the bill was just right. We'll definitely come back for more.

We were taken here by one of our work colleagues and what a super place. Hidden behind a facade of a house the interior was simple and immaculate. The service was very good with ( luckily for us) waiters who were prepared to explain the menu to us in English. Simple food beautifully prepared fresh and innovative. I would recommend the carbonara which was light and beautifully prepared with a delectable sauce , homemade and not the heavy carbonara that appear on many menus. finished of with fruits and home made ice cream , desert wine and coffee exceptional service and great food wow!

This is one of those restaurant you don't expect to find at every corner. The food was excellent, fresh, local. After we ordered starters and main course, we got served hand-cut of fresh flavorful prosciutto. They have a large wooden table in the middle of the restaurant where they cut prosciutto and cheese the old fashion way and in plain sight. I got some local carpaccio with arugula and shaved pecorino. They have indicated the geographical source of each item on the menu, and everything tastes so fresh. I had ordered gnocchi with fresh white local asparagus and goat cheese, however the waiter recommended the risotto version not on the menu. Delicate, so good. The host came to see us several times, you can tell there is great care with the managing of the place and why it's the top restaurant in Gallarate. We were sitting outside, but the restaurant itself would have been a great setting too. A must if you want to impress someone. Thank you!

La Mimosa is a nice little friendly restaurant conveniently located closed to the church square.
Atmosphere and place are comfortable, I have personally found the service managed by our waitress very good, she was professional explaining all the recipes, precise and extremely fast to serve.
We all chose different dishes and they weregood despite with no particular tastes or characteristics except for the vegetables fresh and well done.
Pasta alla gricia or matriciana was not lokalike the original and there was not wood oven for the Pizza.
Desserts were accordingly to the rest of the dinner

The place is highly recommended if you are seeking Italian food done by a great chef. The ambiance is cosy but make sure to bring in a translation tool because staff doesn't speak English

We do not speak any Italian, so our host got their one staff who does speak English to help us out. He not only helped us but he took the time to explain every ingredient and helped us decide which to get. They only serve pizza here and it's really good. They cook their pizza in their brick oven for about 90-180 seconds, everything is fresh and great tasting. And the best part--- they let us modify and make our own pizzas. I have this place 4 instead of 5 because the pizza that I actually got off their menu, was unsatisfactory. The pizzas we made were incredible!

Being fish lovers, we drove ~ 1 1/4 hours from Switzerland to try this restaurant and weren't disappointed. We started with a super-fresh raw fish platter (with buttery crustaceans) and delectable deep-fried zuchini flowers. This was followed by mains of perfectly-seared, sesame-crusted tuna and mixed fish grill (with tender calamari - not chewy, one of the hallmarks of a good fish restaurant in our book). We finished off the meal with fresh summer berries and the house version of 'sfogliata' (flaky pastry filled with cream). We sat on the Terrace and were bothered by the mosquitoes at first but the restaurant took care of that nuisance in a hurry. A definite repeat!

Mi sono fermata una sera a mangiare una piada veloce con il mio compagno. Il servizio è veloce e gentile, ma le piadine purtroppo sapevano di ben poco. Le verdure alla griglia nella mia erano bruciacchiate; la cottura è troppo rapida, rendendola croccante esternamente e fredda all'interno. La farcitura era povera che rendeva la piada asciutta e poco saporita, infatti la lista è vasta, ma ce ne sono ben poche che contengono salse. Ne abbiamo mangiare di migliori.
