I'm an Italian researcher and I've been here just yesterday with some friends, after several suggestions. The expectation were quite satisfied! The place is not fancy but very friendly and comfortable, and the ambience is enriched by the jazz music and the particular decorations all around. The restaurant doesn't seem to have a fixed menu, but the dishes are quite particular and the portions are not so bad, you can easily be satisfied maybe also with just the starter "entrée". The waiters speak a bit of English and they have been happy to explain us the menu. They offer also a huge list of cocktails, that you can appreciate in the terrace during summer or in the upstairs bar. Jazz concerts in several days are one of the attractions. Personally I think it's a perfect place to hang around with friends and music and drinks, but also nice to eat something time to time.

Would love to be able to rate the food etc but unfortunately we didn't get as far as experiencing that. Although, admittedly, we hadn't booked, we turned up at 8.20pm on a rainy Thursday evening in August to be told tersely that they couldn't possibly accommodate us (family of 4) although only 3 of the 25 tables were occupied. Disappointing...

everythig was really okay but... this place is expert in steaks, so I ordered one and the meat was hard and not very tasty ;/ The dessert was awsome instead. I would give something between average and very good - just "good".

This is where we take our visitors for a special treat. It's quite a surprising restaurant to find in a modest village, and the advantage is that there's never a problem parking. La Bonne Franquette is bit pricey, but the food never fails to delight our guests. The menu changes all the time, and there's always something a bit out-of-the-ordinary - unusual flavour combinations - on offer. The wine list is very comprehensive & you can trust their recommendations in function of the dishes you're ordering. Service is friendly and efficient. Best to book as far in advance as you can: they sometimes close down for holidays.Finally, I quote from what our recent UK visitors wrote afterwards "that was one of the best - if not THE best - meals we've ever eaten".

La Benerie is a walled farm complex, given a new life as restaurant and a number of meeting rooms in a flowery setting. There is ample parking place, necessary, as the complex can only be reached by car. The atmosphere of "la France profonde" is tastefully maintained The dining room is decorated in the same style. It is a joy to look around.The chef does an excellent job, providing a wide range of classic dishes for all tastes at moderate prices. Dishes range from black pudding to foie gras and back again. They are presented delightfully and with style. The wine card is long and fun, but most of the wines are too young.If the chef develops just a bit more, giving more thought to creativeness, terroir and taste balances, I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn up in the prestigious restaurant guides. Meanwhile, this restaurant is perfect for a day out, with an extended family, as a romantic meeting place, for a large company celebrating or (why not) a corporate strategy meeting.Do check opening hours.

The restaurant is located in the farmyard of a small village 25 kms south of Paris, famous for its castle and where they celebrate twice a year a plant festival.Tasteful environment and warm welcomeWe started with lobster in small slices with violet potatoes and citrus bed; main course was "pata negra" pork chop that was absolutely soft and delicious, and suckling lamb with season vegetables and gratin dauphinois; the lamb was excellent and melted in the mouth. For the main courses, we would have appreciated to have the pork and lamb served on warm plates to maintain the dish warmer.We then took home made lemon meringue pie with green lemon sorbet, and it was very good, but maybe too sweet.Good advice as regard the choice of wine (Vin de Loire). Definitely a place where we will go again in summer on their beautiful terrace.

Staff were very nice, menu was a little limited but then this is more of a bar than a restaurant and the food that there was, was very nice. I had the steak hachee and chips. The chips deserve special mention as they must have been cooked in something that gave them a unique, quite moreish taste. Staff were very helpful in anyway needed (a charger for a phone, clearing a space to change a baby) as we were there as a group of three adults and two babies seeing a friend who has recently moved from Australia.

Lovely Friday night, English speaking kind staff. I made reservations through the phone. Nice music inside, better go there as a group and taste many dishes as much as you can. Spend the whole night. Delicious Brie with truffles on the cheese platter. We haven't tried the cheeseburger and heard afterwards its quite famous. So give it a try!

We have tried most restaurants around Gif sur Yvette area and we are convinced that " Les Saveurs Sauvages" is our favourite. We have been here a few times already, and this particular evening meal was the best one.We enjoyed the tastefully arranged dishes, food were delicious & outstanding. The services efficient & waitresses were very cordial. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were visiting the Golf Shop in the village and saw the restaurant opposite. We could not get a table outside ( it was very hot) however the helpful waitress found us a nice cool table inside. The lunch was 15 euros for three courses. It was excellent value for money.
