Beautiful place with old-school terasse. You feel like you eat in your garden. Food was excelent! Big choice of meat! For meat-lover excelent place! But big minus for service. They dont care about them costumers.

A small town, Haacht, has a big brewery and a few shops. No monuments, no true sightseeing, no tourism. There we find a place called Arachna, spider in Latin, one would think alternative place for insect eating? To the contrary, simple, plain, traditional restaurant, nothing stylish, nothing fancy. the name? Well, refers to a specific part of the beef which is cooked to perfection, the Arachna,. Beef, again, that's what it takes. A nice piece of meat, well prepared, nice salad on the side and french fries. A nice local beer to drink and impeccable service. The price reasonable. So we went, we saw a full restaurant, noisy at moments, a lot of locals (where can they go?), people in casual dress, there for dinner, not for show. Do not expect miracles, do not expect to be noticed, just expect a nice dinner. By the way, if ever you would still have room for dessert, the ice cream was 'fab'.

This restaurant specialises in different cuts of high quality steak from various parts of the world. Most of it is dry-aged. I really like this particular business model, where the restaurant restricts their menu to one specific type of dish and then perfects this to the point of excellence.The staff were all friendly and the venue had a very pleasant atmosphere.We enjoyed two ribs of Scottish dry aged steak between four of us, which were superb. The French fries were the best I can remember eating anywhere. Accompanied by two bottles of full-bodied Chateau Margaux in the company of friends I can’t think of many better ways to spend a cold evening in Belgium.
