Teaberry's Tea Room

Teaberry's serves both a full lunch and afternoon tea all day Tuesday through Sunday during normal business hours. We have a selection of excellent wines for purchase by the bottle. We specialize in private parties on site and also offer many unique and interesting events throughout the year. All our menu items are available for take-out. Teaberry's also caters offsite parties and offers complete consultation services for such events. Teaberry's was created in a lovingly restored Victorian home as a refuge from the outside world. Inside you will feel pampered as the atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, cozy and never rushed. You have a selection of over 100 fine teas, brewed to perfection. Fresh flowers and linens adorn each table and the attentive wait staff will take excellent care of you. We believe it is enriching to add beauty and charm to the little details of our lives and at the same time it helps to slow us down as we appreciate the moment. Our gift shop is brimming with fun and fanciful surprises - many tea related - as well as gift certificates and all our loose leaf teas.

I have been coming to Teaberry's since I fell in love with my British Husband in 2005. At their old location in the center of town when they had this wonderful bubbling fountain and this cute and equally bubby red-haired girl (Sara). The service, food and tea were great, and as such, I have followed Sara and her mother (owner Susan Peterson) over to their current location for good reason...this is the best tea house I have been to in NJ and I have been to at least a half a dozen. It's good because, from the moment you exit your car, you see care in every detail. The parking lot is tidy and flat (perfect for older guests that can make stairs still, but not too many). Then you walk the meandering path which is brimming with a seasonal flowerbed of color and little curiosities no matter when you come. Then to climb a few stairs to the wrap around porch which in warm weather is dressed with crisp linens and cheerful fresh flower arrangements and fine silver. In colder weather you will need to go inside which is where you will be greeted by one of their warm and helpful staff. If you do have to wait for the hostess (they are busy...so make reservations), your eyes will wander to the upside down Christmas tree always seasonally decorated, or possibly to the left where there is a fireplace mantle decorated with antiques and tea-themed novelties or maybe to the right, which is a butter yellow room (my favorite) with the cutest little window niche to cosy up with a good friend or handsome beau. If you want a little more privacy or a little more whimsy, try one of the upstairs room which is where I like to bring my nieces when they visit from England or my mother when she wants to gossip (she doesn't hear as well as she used to, so she talks louder than she used to)....I love the French-themed room for its flair and fleur de lis motives just waiting to be discovered. Okay, enough about the place...now the service. They are BUSY, especially in nice weather, so if in doubt, make reservations. The service is a Victorian tea house, so realize you are there to relax not be interrupted every 15 minutes. When they come to take care of you, they will do just that..take care of you. So while the service is attentive, it's faster downstairs than it is upstairs (probably because the staff go up and down every time you want something from the kitchen (remember Downton Abbey when the bells would ring? That's the idea...they will serve you and they will; it just takes time because this is a house, and it takes time to go up and down stairs). The tea is prepared for you in your own huge tea pot. ALL the teas are wonderful! The lunch items are all good. All the food is fresh, delicious and decoratively prepared. I brought my boss here and she was very impressed. I personally am a fan of the tea menu. Regardless if it's just tea and tea sandwiches or one of the massive teas (from Milady's Tea and down the menu from there). ALL are incredibly scrumptious. The tea sandwiches are a great way to get a taste of everything -and wow...they are so good! They change them every once in a while, and I never get bored or disappointed. Milady's Tea is like a little party for YOU on a plate. It IS a lot of food, so come hungry or for 8.00 you can share it with a friend. The cute little desserts that come with is are so loveling prepared! All in little paper cups...again, much like a little "You are awesome, I love you and enjoy"! In the summer, I do this for myself with a solo pot of tea and sit on the front porch and watch all the people go by or listen to the church bells. It's just heaven (see pictures). After that there is gelato and the BEST scone you I have ever had (England or USA) and the clotted cream is to die for (it's actually imported from England). All this while you are sitting there taking in the scene from Victorian times complete with linen, silver service, fresh flowers and the sweetest and most adoring staff. I have a mental block for the older woman that usually is the main hostess, but I adore her. She is so kind, so warm and calm. She's very accommodating and honest. I feel cared for and appreciated even after coming to Teaberry's for 12 years. I came here the year I fell in love with my British husband and I was lucky I found him and my other great love...TEABERRRY's! It's simply the best tea house around.

A CIA (Hyde Park) graduate, Chef Matt McPherson stays true to his local roots integrating the finest seasonal ingredients, sourced from local family farms & day boat fisherman into his unique dishes. The restored Victorian home provides a relaxed elegant atmosphere to catch up with friends, celebrate special occasions, enjoy a romantic dinner, or impress an important client. I suggested Matt's for Valentine's Day dinner and was so disappointed! We ordered the flatbread and it was served uncut. When we cut the flatbread, it broke into a thousand little pieces. It tasted great but it looked like a mess. Then I was so looking forward to my lobster. It came unopened in its shell. I had to struggle to cut it open with my butter knife. I did not want to send it back to the kitchen for fear it would come back cold. I noticed the gentleman next to me had his lobster served properly out of the shell. The food was delicious but someone in the kitchen needs lessons on presentation.

I do not usually do repeat reviews unless I had an outstanding meal or the overall rating has changed. I this case its both. The chicken pot stickers are a really nice starter - more flavor around the dumplings than you usually get. I had the short ribs - very tender, nice sides, very nice presentation. Lady had he scallops which she said were some of the best ever. Worth the price this trip.

We stopped here for dinner on a weekend getaway. What a delicious meal we had. We started with the homemade bread basket and stuffed artichoke and a bottle of wine recommended by our waiter. He was absolutely correct in stating it was a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon. Then we had the the Luca Seafood Pasta and Porchetta. Both were incredible. I only wish we lived closer to go again soon. It’s a lovely place with delicious Italian food...perfect!

We came here for a Holy Communion lunch. The last time I was here the food was not that good however this time it was a better experience. The appetizers of antipasto Italiano, bruschetta, calamari, etc. were enjoyable accompanied with a very nice bread. My entrée was the eggplant parmigiana which was decent but not over the top great. Service was hit and miss.

Note it is a BOB establishment.

Stopped in for dinner after passing this place for years. The bar was your basic local almost sports bar with multiple TV's. With all the live sports available, it was odd to see one TV broadcasting classic UFC match highlights. The inside seems to go on forever with a dining area as well. The service was prompt and efficient. Drinks and food came up quick. We were not rushed, but this was not a take your time kind of meal. As for the food, it was just ok. The prime rib was only fair. It was not tender nor flavorful. I expected much more giving is was not inexpensive, being $26 for the 10 oz cut. They did have plenty of drink options at the bar. If I try it again, I will stick to pub grub versus fine cuisine.

Dockside Market and Grill

Reviewed By RUBMW - Hopewell, New Jersey

Went to Dockside couple weeks ago and initially we were very impressed with the décor, ambience, and menu. After ordering our food however, this is where things went way south. My wife's food was brought out and mine came a few minutes later. No big deal, however, my order was completely wrong. Filet mignon was overcooked, the sides were not correct. The waitress was notified of this and although apologetic she took the items that I said I would eat and pushed them to another plate "so at least I could have something to eat". The steak went back to the kitchen and although it was promised that it would be expedited, I waited another 25-30 minutes for the new order, which when it did come out the meet was not done to my request (medium), although better than the original order. After the meal I thought there would be some apology or perhaps a coupon for a return visit, maybe a complimentary dessert????? NOTHING!!!!! When one has so many restaurants to choose from 1st impressions are important and unfortunately Dockside did not deliver. Sorry but won't be coming back!
