I chose to return to Hotel Kindness in February because of the excellent service Ms. Yen provided the first time I visited. She showed expert patience dealing with my lack of Mandarin. I asked for directions and translations daily. Ms. Yen never disappointed. Of all the times I have visited Kaohsiung, I have not met a hotel staff as resourceful and professional as Ms. Yen.

Not the garden I was expecting!
Reviewed By Debra DAs an American, my interpretation of the description envisioned a real garden surrounding the motel! It was a disappointment to see just a few trees around, and it was in the middle of town. The rooms had exterior doors to the parking area so convenient if you were driving. We arrived by taxi so didn't need the parking. The room was a bit musty. We actually had a family room with a large King bed and a double bed for our daughter. She slept well, being accustomed to firm Taiwanese beds, but we tossed and turned for awhile. The breakfast was traditional Taiwanese/Chinese foods which we enjoyed, and probably the best part of our stay. Truly authentic -- but definitely looked nothing like a Western breakfast! This motel seems to cater to locals, so we got the true experience but were thankful for our daughter's language skills! The front desk and breakfast staff were very professional, and helpful with directions and taxis. It was fine for a one-night stay en route to other destinations, but would not be a destination in itself! I can't remember the TV having English stations, but WiFi was available and worked fine.
