Fabulous, interesting and imaginative menu in a delighful environment. The service was fantastic, do not miss this one, it is very special. The six of us enjoyed a wonderful evening starting with a relaxing pre dinner drink in the excellent and comfortable lounge through to sitting down to eat in the dining room where the superb service continued right through the evening. A definite rerun is required.

Popped into the Starfish Bistro for a brunch and had the best french toast we've ever tasted.
French toast with bacon, maple syrup, bananas and natural yoghurt. Simply delicious.
Yes there was a bit of a wait but we knew the food was being freshly prepared so no problem with that. Read the papers and had great coffee.
Top ups of coffee and tea offered.
Service was excellent too.
Will definitely be back....again and again.

My wife and I have been coming to the Mill for years now. We spent last weekend here. What keeps bringing us back is the wonderful overall experience: the warm welcome from Susan, the friendly waiting staff and the superb food in the restaurant. The breakfast is also excellent. There is a great selection of fruit salads, bananas in cinnamon, rhubarb and other delights. The hot food is cooked from fresh. The rooms are comfortable, most of them with lovely views over New Lake. It is a perfect base for exploring the beauties of Donegal. We just love it here.

i had called in advance about ordering a slimming world dish and was given the chefs personal number which I didn't feel comfortable ringing so when we arrived as part of a group I didn't want to be embarrassed by asking at table so I asked waitress first it was made such a fuss I was mortified they threw together a stir fry which was dripping in oil and tasted horrible I'm not fussy but I couldn't eat it we had paid a lot of money for a set menu as part of a group and felt so bad leaving will never be back

Food was very basic, deep fried, microwaveable cuisine. We were tourists and was expecting something a little better. Bar man was not overly friendly and didn't make you feel welcome. Overall it was an OK experience and nothing to shout about.

Not the most elegant or modern of places but what it lacks in that department it more than makes up for in a good hearty meal. I have had the turkey/ham a couple of times and both times it was great and very good value for money. I'd imagine we will be back a few times in the months and years to come.. even if it is just to try the burgers which I noticed when we were last in because they look fantastic. Keep it up..

There must be some surly people in Donegal, but perhaps they don't go out much. We've certainly never met any of them in the hospitality industry! Those words "hospitality" and "industry" together like that suggest something that people have to "put on", but it never feels like that in Dunfanaghy, or, especially, in Lizzie's Diner.
When you ask for something, like another dish of Tartare sauce, for example. "no bother" sounds true, not part of the job.
We would love Lizzie's Diner, even if the food wasn't so delicious, for just that reason. And it's not that there's nobody there so staff have loads of time. They seem constantly busy, but never too busy for a smile and a bit of friendly interchange.
We recently had dinner there, and went back for breakfast the next morning. Other reviews will confirm the pleasure of eating here, but we'll add one comment to that ... If the seafood tagliatelle is anything to go by, when something on the menu is marked as a "Signature Dish", it's flagging up something extraordinarily good!

Nice decor but no atmosphere or welcome from waitress. We like seafood chowder and ordered this but were given bowls of insipid, overcooked salmon and frozen prawn soup. Not sure what the red oily liquid was supposed to be but it definitely wasn't a creamy filling chowder. I would have said something when paying but the waitress seemed so uninterested I didn't bother.

Stopped here for a few brews. It's an authentic, historic Irish pub, with a great atmosphere, good food (from what I was told), great drink, and lively 'craic'. There was an Irish folk group playing when I went, and they were fantastic. The place was packed at 5 in the afternoon, with locals and tourists; met a physician and his wife from France and had a great time talking to them. It was my favorite place in Dunfanaghy.
