Old and worn rooms
Reviewed By Eigil Evan Stev... SThe food was good and the staff helpfull. But the rooms where terrible. First i got one room, it wase dirty, old and very worn. I of course complained about this and got ab other room, but this room had mostly the same issues. The staff though where very polite and helpful. Both in the restaurant, which was more a 3-4 star experience, and in the reception.

Memorable stays - tasteful dining experiences - central and idyllic location. Brobyværk Kro is in the heart of Funen, where the road between Odense and Faaborg crosses Odense River. This place has been royally privileged since 1732. The idyllic Inn, with the river in the backyard is a perfect starting point to experience all of Funen ; nature, city life, the sea and lots of attraction. Brobyværk Kro has old traditions to provide a good bed and serve a nice meal. The place is authentic but with modern ideas and visions, with present and informal hosts. The inn's 17 rooms are all renovated in 2021 and equipped with bathroom and toilet, TV, internet, wardrobe, refrigerator, coffee machine and desk. Free parking is available.
Very nice country hotel
Reviewed By P4972PNannemariebVery good service and nice and helpful staff. We had a lovely room overlooking Odense Å. Nice and clean. We saw cows, ducks and swans from our window, very idyllic. We stayed there for 2 nights and had very good breakfast. The dinner was absolutely top We are coming back.

Beware the shared bathroom experience!
Reviewed By IanJHillOK enough place, but .... My wife and I normally have a strict "no shared bathrooms" policy when we travel. We relaxed it on this occasion because we booked late and couldn't find anything else - we hoped there would be not many sharing and it would be easily accessible. No luck on either count. There were four rooms sharing one bathroom - and it was on another floor! Thank God for the creaky staircase which told you when someone was entering or leaving the bathroom - even in the middle of the night. And the shower and toilet were in the same room, so if any one of the people in those four rooms was having a shower, the toilet was unusable. Credit where it's due - great shower with nice hot water and very good pressure. Unimaginative breakfast. Not sure I'd even call this a B&B. It's more of a reception centre with rooms to rent. All things considered, I think this should have been less expensive.

The room was nice and light - but even for an old castle with many issues like windows that would not open, cold water in the shower and broken shelves in the bathroom. We liked the look and feel - but ... Dinner was OK, but not more. First course was a piece of rather ordinay ham with an apple relish - that simply did not work. Second course a soup with a thick skin, main course was pork, that was OK, cheeses were rather ordinary, and the cake in the end was OK... Wine pairing was... not pairing... just whatever glasses that they offered and not at a decent price. The Park around the castle is nice and allows for a small stroll.

Basic good value
Reviewed By BursledonWe stayed at Faaborg Byferie twice this year when visiting family. It is in a superb central location by the market square with shops and restaurants nearby. The rooms are large and comfortable, if a little dated, and the basic kitchen enables guests to make breakfast and simple meals. Our room was at the front of the building and we were woken up by the rubbish collection early in the mornings - this was the only disadvantage. Parking in the yard at the back is limited and the access is extremely narrow, so care is needed. Overall, unusual accommodation and good value.

The food is high quality and as a many year vegan it’s often hard for me to get decent food when I’m out and around in Denmark. This place created some awesome food for me and my colleague, most of it organic, even gluten-free options at the breakfast - so the kitchen master sure goes full in for serving quality food for its customers. Everything is practically new so the place is in good and clean condition. Highly recommend.
