Good views, great sized rooms and health facilities, if a little dated

Reviewed By BengalCatLady

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Parking a bit of a challenge in car park, but on street parking nearby. Room a good size with a sea view and short walk from the beach - town a bit further but not bad. One complaint would be the mattress which wasn't comfortable. Indoor swimming pool rarely busy which is a rarity in hotels so much appreciated. Would stay again.

A weekend break with our dog

Reviewed By susannaht698

We stayed in shepherds hut with our dog. Shepherds hut was beautifully decorated and well equipt for a couple of nights away. Perfect for a relaxing break with easy access to costal path. Breakfast was delivered to the hut each morning and was excellent. Staff made us and our dog feel incredibly welcome including leaving a couple of dog treats in the hut for him. The grounds of the estate are beautiful with sculptures and ponds throughout. The only improvement would be to have gates on the access to the hut veranda. I had deliberately taken a suitcase to block the opening as I had spotted it in the pictures but realised when we arrived that there were 2 openings and it lead directly to a pond area so had to keep the dog on a lead whilst on the veranda.

Faded grandeur

Reviewed By John Cottrell c

Very well positioned, the Imperial is a comfortable hotel with pleasant staff. The room we had was clean and comfortable and had all the usual facilities but the fabric of the building shows some signs of wear and tear. The breakfast buffet was very good and everything worked although there were maintenance men desperately searching for the source of a serious water leak whilst we were there. And charging extra for car parking was a bit of a cheek!

Excellent staff shame about the food

Reviewed By christaffy

The staff were very friendly and the waiters were amazing. The food was not good and the tea and coffee was worse than not good. The milk in the room was also awful, couldn't wait to go to a cafe for a proper cuppa. Breakfast wasn't too bad but dinners were awful. Stunning location and worth paying extra for a sea view. Pity we cant pay extra and have better food.

Overpriced

Reviewed By megamanmagee

Booked into the Ashton Court for one night towards the end of may while visiting the area. It’s in a great location as it’s close to the seafront, train station and town centre however the hotel is in need of a makeover as The bathroom was in need of decorating as well as the carpets. Additionally the single room I had cost £50 for just one night which was very overpriced considering the size of the room al though I did have a lovely view of the seafront.

Disappointing breakfast in Exmouth

Reviewed By Heather D

The breakfast let this hotel down. You have to pre- order the day before, we then waited 25 minutes for the cooked breakfast. It was not worth the wait, cheap sausages and bacon, solid yoked egg and tinned mushroom ( which I could not eat). It is such a shame as the room was very good, the bed very comfortable and the staff excellent.
