Whalers Licensed Restaurant is located amongst the landscaped Gardens of the Exmouth Escape Resort. We offer the perfect relaxed dining experience to complete your visit to Western Australia's world famous Ningaloo Reef. Liz Minniear and executive chef Paul Minniear have owned and operated Whalers Restaurant since 2007. In early 2014 they moved the restaurant from Kennedy st to the Exmouth Escape Resort where they can now offer a more comfortable, modern and lush setting for their diners' pleasure. They continue to pride themselves on fresh, honest flavours and source the finest local seafood, steaks and produce available. Live music is a regular feature at the restaurant with solo or duo acoustic acts playing on the deck while you enjoy your meal. Whalers also caters for functions including Weddings, birthdays and business functions which can be catered for off site or at the restaurant.

Whalers Restaurant is located onsite of the Escape Resort. Reservations are recommended. The staff are excellent and made our last night at the resort most memorable however, they were not aware that we were leaving the following day.
We ordered the garlic foccacia grilled with tomato basil salsa and Parmesan and the seafood medley that was for two and added the porterhouse steak. There definitely was more than enough for two people but we wanted to try the “Australian” seafood and beef, it was amazing. The young lady that took care of our table even suggested a non-alcoholic beverage that would give me the “Australian” drink experience and I must admit, the drink was excellent as I had three. I appreciated that she took the time to provide me with this drink option.
We had a table outside and to the side where the plants were and it was perfect. It gave us a bit of privacy. This was a perfect ending to a perfect trip.

We stayed in the two bed rooms apartment with SPA. The rooms were new, clean, beautiful bath room & two showers, kitchen and washing machine was included. You can enjoy SPA with ocean view. So we loved staying there.
Breakfast at restaurant was disappointing. Not enough staff, not so much variety of food and it was not welcoming. Stayed 3 nights in total, but it was same everyday. You can order some hot food like omelets, but it is hard to find a person to order.
Swimming pool was good for both kids and parents.
Overall, we liked there and we would like to go there again.

Was expecting a little better based in the reviews, the fish was only OK, which considering the location of this spot and the amount of fresh fish around, was disappointing. We got the whiting, and 1 serve of fries (which was far more than enough for 2 people). Also got a crab stick and a potato cake-both ok.

Long wait on the evening I was there (not sure if it's like that normally or just bad luck).
The truck is cool too. It's located just out the back of the potshot hotel, opposite side of the road to where the dive centre is.

My partner and I wanted to have a nice dinner on News Year Eve whilst on holiday. Unfortunately we were disappointed by our meals at the Potshot. We were happy to pay the prices but we expected at least a good pub meal. The seafood starter was a disaster - was oily and greasy, had came with a ripe tomato salsa and a brown Asian sauce that didn’t go with the seafood. They chips and salad tasted like something you would take from a buffet, not what you would expect for a pub dinner.

There are many other restaurants to try in Exmouth & I recommend you do.
Not one of our table enjoyed their meals! Service wasn't great; staff were very stressed - as it was a 'busy night'- but there were so many staff members walking around, we couldn't understand the chaos.

We ordered chilli mussels as an entree and definitely enough for 2 people! Sadly the surf and turf steak we ordered was very average, especially the salad it came with... On another note the gelato here is an absolute must, I’d return here for dessert any day!

We are a very relaxed and casual restaurant right at the Marina in Exmouth, WA. The views are spectacular and cant be rivalled by any other dining establishment in Exmouth. Our meals encompass some of the beautiful seafood Exmouth offers along with steaks, curries, burgers and weekly specials. And yes, we do cater for vegetarians. We have a well stocked bar with local and imported beers, ciders, wines, sparkling and champagne. Just a short drive from town and you can enjoy all we have to offer. We offer lunch from 11.30-1.30 Friday, Saturday and Sunday & dinner from 5pm - 8.30pmish Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thursday nights are dedicated to the freshest seafood we can find. While the menu is predominately seafood, we do offer steaks & vegetarian meals also. When in Exmouth join us for some of the best value meals this town has to offer.

We attended for our son's 9th birthday. Fantastic location overlooking the gulf on one side and marina on the other... we love the "surf club" type feel. Very casual. The manager Maria was brilliant. Looking after the venue by herself. Chef did a great job. Steak cooked to perfection. Fish grilled well. Very affordable after trying without success to find somewhere like this in Broome. Well done Maria.

Prawn and scallop pie -Tender scallops, juicy prawns caught yesterday in the local waters. Seasoned well and enveloped in delicate layers of puff pastry. Oh yes, Exmouth WA is full of hidden magic. Book this pie the day before, custom orders prepaid only.

Went here for brekky as we saw it the night before whilst driving past.
Really good brekky menu and great coffee. Smashed avocado with beetroot puree and poached eggs was delicious.
Easy parking in main shops. Service a bit slow but it was really busy and not many staff on.
Great place for breakfast!
