I know people get their wonderful baked goods, but go for lunch and get their soup and sandwich. For about $10 with specials daily at a couple $$ off you get a nice cup of soup and a sandwich that you build. Choose bread and ingredients. Wife and I shared to have room for some raspberry pie.
Tip, order at the counter and sit outside on a nice day.

My son took us here with his daughters. The pies are very good. Unfortunately you can't eat them in your hand as the pastry is "crumbly". This being the main difference between them and a "Cornish Pasty".
The taste is great and reminds me of our holidays in St. Ives!!
If I lived in the area this would be a regular hopping off spot.

Their regular cones actually have two scoops and their doubles are overwhelmingly large so I've learned that I am best off with just a single cone. My teenagers have grown up getting these cones and are quite content with the double cone bonus of yummy flavours. We often stock up on a few items such as the milk, eggs, cheese, etc. before heading back to Canada.

Three Flavors Kitchen

Four of us had dinner here on a Friday around 6 PM. Menu is incredibly varied with Asian, Italian, Mexican, and American cuisine: everything from Kung Pao to Tamales Plate to Pasta to Burgers and Steaks. AND you can order off the extensive breakfast menu too (breakfast served all the time). Friday is the night of specials, so 3 of us opted for the Prime Rib dinner; 2 with mashed potatoes and 1 with baked potato. Meat Serving was gigantic, flavorful, and seasoned well. Potatoes delcious and came with all of the fixings. Was worth the $20 per plate. The 4th member of our party ordered a Hawaiian Burger ($14) which came out at half a pound, with generous portions of tomato, lettuce, large bun and enough homemade fries (deliciously seasoned with rosemary, garlic, salt, and pepper) to feed everyone at the table. Also ordered an appetizer of Pico de Gallo (homemade and mouthwatering) served with homemade torilla chips. We were too full for desert: chocolate mousse, tiramisu, chocolate cake ... You'd think with so many different plates, the food would be lacking something, but it is not. We were all very pleased with our meals and plan to return soon; maybe breakfast for lunch.

Promptly greeted and self seated. Excellent service before, during and at end of meal.
Well known locally for their Hot Turkey Sandwich which was one entrée and 3 Fried Chicken pieces was the other. Great tastes and large serving sizes leaves no room for any desserts. Great home cooking style.

For me this little place ranks right up next to woods as the best cup of coffee and their milkshakes are the best in whatcom county. They use hard ice cream and whatever flavor you want... My favorites are the blue raspberry shake and a peppermint white chocolate mocha.....

Herb Niemann's Steak & Schitzel House

This restaurant was recommended locally so we went for dinner last night. We were very happy with the 10oz sirloin dinner. The steak was nicely seasoned and cooked exactly as ordered. You could cut it with a fork - so tender and delicious. It was served with a very large helping of Bavarian fried potatoes that were almost a meal in themselves and some of the tastiest potatoes I've ever had. Also accompanied by a big portion of green beans which I dislike so didn't try - on future visits I'll ask what the veggie is when ordering. The meal came with soup or salad and we had the Caesar which was excellent. Garlic toast is also included and was very good. We opted for dessert as well and I highly recommend the Black Forest Cake. The serving was large, the cake light, cherries and whipped cream plentiful. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The decor is warm and welcoming. Pricing is such that this will be a once in a while dining spot rather than a regular place but I'm quite sure we will return!

Black Forest Steak House

Reviewed By Jenniferigor - Bellingham, Washington

We went here for our anniversary and both ordered the 8oz. filet mignon medium rare. The outside was a little overlooked, but was definitely medium rare in the center. My steak came with pan fried potatoes that were over salted and zucchini that was okay, but nothing special.

The service and atmosphere were good. Prices are high, but in line with steakhouses. Our meal, with tip, came to $109. We each had one drink, but no appetizers or dessert.
