Its population is 112,486, according to 2011 census. It lies at an elevation of approximately 500 metres (1,640 feet) above sea level, on the western shore of lake Pamvotis (Παμβώτις). Ioannina is located 410 km (255 mi) northwest of Athens, 260 kilometres (162 miles) southwest of Thessaloniki and 80 km (50 miles) east of the port of Igoumenitsa in the Ionian Sea.

We had lunch here, and we selected our meal from a buffet. We then sat down and our meals were prepared and brought to us. The food was wonderful and the portions were way too much for one person. We had musaka, eggplant, okra--all great.

The only think I would like to mention as a good thing, is the location!The food not so good . We were not satisfied and that's because chicken skewers(souvlaki) were uncooked . You could see that pinky color inside. Really disappointed. 1 for the location 2 for the friendly guy at the service

We stayed with the family, including the two grandchildren, in the restored rooms of the old convent. Very comfortable, quiet and spacious. When we arrived the children immediately discovered the playground so for them the day was already a success. We had breakfast which was very copious and the person serving it was more than helpful. Have visited Metsovitiki folia on the 25th of August.Where should I start???Excellent saganaki, Greek salad had a "twist" - capers were a nice interesting flavor, fried kefalotyri, 1 lamb kontosouvli.Literally, everything was very tasty.Good and cheap choice.Staff has been very friendly and smiley.Have in mind that you have to walk a 5-10 minutes from parking places.Good job Metsovitiki Folia team!!!

Beautifully designed restaurant next to the old town of Ioannina. Excellent service with warm welcome. Tasty traditional dishes with a modern touch to create an original and definetely enjoyable meal. Very appreciated the kindess to offer for free nice appetizers and delicious tiny desserts. Good local wines and amazing chocolate cake to close in the best way. Prices are in the average (from 4 euro for appetizers to 10 euro for main courses, about 4 euro for desserts) but the experience is worth much more than what you pay.Thank you so much for your kind words! The pleasure was all ours!
