We were staying at the hotel with a meal included in our stay, we opted for mushroom soup and ham hock terrine to start... Both were fantastic, for mains we both had beef with red wine ju which was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully, the chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding topped off a first class meal.

We visited the Raby Hunt yesterday for the first time and we were not disappointed! Everything from the service, to the atmosphere, to the decor and of course the food and wine. We opted for the classic wine pairing and in our opinion it is well worth it. Each wine is explained in detail and compliments each course. We were lucky enough to get a signed menu from James as a birthday gift which was amazing. We have already booked up to visit again in the new year. A personal highlight to me was the salad course- I have never tasted anything with so much flavour. If you are considering visiting the Raby Hunt you should do it- it is obviously pricy but as a special occasion/rare treat is it worth it.

Taster menu or a la carte available, all with Scottish twist. Big portions and nicely cooked. Range of drinks was interesting, with taster menu, including whisky of course. Cheerful, helpful staff. Lovely environment downstairs. Would go again.

3 of us ate here on a saturday evening ....and cant wait to go back.Try the shrimp cakes for a starter , they are almost a meal in themselves !For a main meal we had a chicken curry dish , beef with ginger and beef with black bean and peppers . Four of us went on a Saturday night. The service was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The portions are enormous! Really enjoyed the rosemary potatoes and the tiramisu. The mushroom sauce on the chicken was really good. I'd definitely go back. The bill was a lot less than we expected too. £85 for 4 people including drinks. Really good value.

Been meaning to try this place for ages after hearing people rave about it, drove past when we were starving and so pleased we did. For someone who loves an Italian this one was one of the best Iâve been to. Couldnât fault it, superb meal and excellent service. The spicy sauce on the meatballs was unreal. Staff really friendly and prices were spot on. Definitely be going back soon
