I hadn't been here for about 20 years and was keen to go back. The tea room is lovely with beautiful fireplace and beamed ceiling. We sat down for tea and cake. The small pot of tea was tasty but the cake was a major letdown. The cake was a gluten free polenta at £4 a slice. It did not taste like food. It tasted as though it had absorbed whatever was in the air. from the antique part of the place. When I paid my £14 for 2 pots of tea and 2 pieces of cake, I told the man that the cake didn't taste very nice (most of it had been left on the plates). He suggested that maybe we have something different next time or maybe have something different elsewhere. This is not the attitude of someone who is in the service industry. He clearly did not care and was only concerned with taking the money. Looks like I will not be going back for a very long time. This man needs to know better- he should have said something like 'sorry you didn't like it but others do' or 'was there something wrong?' or even give some money back. Yes he had all the smiles when we came in but he needs to be more professionalwhen dealing with issues. Sadly he spoled it.

Wonderful little cafe at the back of Tesco's Metro (parked in Tesco's car park too), fabulous homemade breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and cakes. Specialising in catering for kiddies too with mini size cups n plates. We had delicious well filled toasties in granary served with a nice side salad, young'un had a great hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, sausage beans n toast, we all cleared our plates and had room for yummy Chocolate Easter nest cakes. They was a kiddies birthday party going on at the time which also looked to be great fun with the children making, decorating and eating pizzas, boxes and cup cakes looked after by a waitress whilst parents had coffees and a chat. Friendly attentive staff, clean, colourfully & cheerfully decorated for the kids, large toilet with baby change facilities, play area and books for the children, outside seating available if desired and reasonably priced. Will definitely be taking the grand kids again Thank you

Always pop in for a lazy breakfast or a spot of lunch where I know the ingredients of the food is superb, though honestly that's only half the reason I visit... it's the wonderful team of Fiona, Sharon and Vicki that makes you want to return, friendly staff that treat you like a friend in a relaxed environment which make this little cafe great.... you even get to relax with lovely locals Mario :)

Very good find - cool barn conversion with plenty of space inside and out. Fun for young families - secure and with animals to look at and a tractor to play on. Good selection of toasties, bacon rolls and cakes; coffee, service charming and helpful. Plenty of room for bikes, car parking just over the road. Will definitely go again, and would use more often if open earlier

Just happened by this place when walking around Berkhamsted.Extensive menu and incredible shakes.Prices were completely reasonable and the staff were very pleasant.I wish I lived closer as they have a loyalty card.The place was all decorated for Halloween and looked incredible
