Ate at the Royal Standard twice during a week's stay in Flushing. Great cooking every time - lovely veggie and classic options, plus an inspired, Spanish style fish stew. Friendly service and wood-fired pizzas in the garden on a Friday. Dog-friendly in and out.

Visited recently with family. We visited for a drink on a busy Saturday afternoon, and liked the look of the menu so returned to have lunch on a quieter day. Menu was good and the portion sizes huge! Good value for money. Plenty of different drinks to choose from and staff friendly and chatty. Nice area, massive outdoor space just a shame the weather wasn't playing ball to enjoy it! Will definitely return! This pub was highly rated on trip advisor hence I booked it for our first day in Cornwall so that we didn't have to travel round searching for Sunday lunch. It was quite difficult to find, down very twisty turny roads, which was fine and expected, but once there it didn't live up to expectations. We had a corner table with uncomfortable chairs/benches and no windows around at all. Food was uninspiring at best. All in all I wouldn't go again.Sorry, you did not enjoy your experience. We do always try our best to make everyone happy.We have loads of seating options including 6 acres of gardens please try us again first impressions are not always correct.

Beautiful old building in a stunning location. It was Thursday night and we were in luck - curry night! Superb beef rogan josh with nan bread poppadum, Mango chutney and a free drink! Curry was delicious and good value. My dessert was weird and expensive but my husband really enjoyed his. All in all an excellent evening, good wine choice too at sensible prices.Thank you for your review, delighted you enjoyed our curry night! It's a regular fixture during October and November, and we also have other special food nights which you'll find publicised on our Facebook page. We're not sure what your 'weird' dessert was as you don't specify, but we're pleased your husband enjoyed his! Our wine list has won awards and we put a lot of time and effort into selecting a great range of wines at good prices â we're glad you approve! We hope to see you again soon.

I booked a table by phone and was surprised to find the Pub restaurant almost empty. We were worried whether this was because the food was not up to much but were in for a surprise.The roast lamb with vegetables we ordered was lovely and rich, very tasty.Quite a different experience from other Sunday roasts in town recently, which haven't been up to scratch one way or another, from lukewarm or uncrispy roast potatoes or swimming in gravy.We found out later that the Pub had only just restarted offering Sunday lunches.Definitely worth another visit or two.

We had a large area reserved for our friends and family the evening before our wedding for drinks and food.All the staff were very friendly and accommodating and the service was supremely professional.All the food ordered was very tasty and well presented.On the Sunday we had lunch here which was also first class,well cooked,served and presented.We shall be returning soon.Would highly recommend to everyone.Dear Brian T,Thanks so much for the glowing review. This was our second visit to the Trelowarren Arms having called in whilst staying nearby visiting our daughter in Falmouth earlier this year. We enjoyed our first visit so much we felt we had to pay it another visit. Itâs a topical dog friendly village pub with pleasant friendly staff who really look after you. The food is very good with excellent waitress service to match. I advise that you pay it a visit if you are in the area if you like hearty good food with service to match.

In Falmouth to visit the Maritime Museum and decided to have lunch here. Very pleased we did! We both had roast beef (sadly for my husband lamb wasn't available) and it was delicious, served pink just how we like it. Accompanied with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and parsnips, mashed carrots and swede plus a bowl of cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage in cheese sauce. Highly recommended and remember to book as they were very busy. We visited on Sunday night after seeing the positive reviews on Tripadvisor.We didnât book (thereâs no option on the website but the team told us next time fill in the enquiry form and theyâll confirm.)Iâd recommend booking as there are only a finite number of tables and it is clearly very popular.For good reason! Despite the lack of booking the super friendly team made sure we were accommodated.Service was prompt but not rushed. Very chatty but not intrusive. Laid back but on the ball too.Food...terrific. We shared an indulgent Camembert together and then both had the burger. Bursting with great flavour and texture.Excellent selection of beer, nice wine list for the location. And value! We are Londoners and so the reasonable prices were very refreshingThank you team, it was lovely.
