Cosy, warm and welcoming would describe the ambience. Warm log fires and the friendly attitudes of both the family and members of staff.
We arrived at The Boot Inn on a Sunday at the beginning of our holiday and after a very long journey. The staff at The Boot are extremely friendly and welcoming and the food is second to none. My partner and each ordered the roast beef which was cooked to perfection and very generous portions served with the pub's special homemade horseradish. We shared a delicious dessert: lemon cheesecake with clotted cream which was exquisite. We were so impressed with the food that we returned the following evening and ezch enjoyed a delicious steak. The food and service are exceptional and put other establishments in the area to shame!

We were in Callington as we needed to get 2 new tyres on our car, and dropped into the Bulls Head for a quick drink, whilst we waited. Decided to have one of their "Winter Warmers" dishes. Good service, nice food. Will visit again.

The whitebait starters were excellent and a meal on their own. Local sausages with beautifully cooked mash, gravy and vegetables were a real treat and we didn't have room left to try the deserts. Me and my family were excited to all meet up for a dinner. Everything was going well until we overheard the waitress very loud and clear state to another couple that they should be seated around the corner as me and my family were 'too loud' we were not loud, we were happy and her comment tainted the get together, to the the point that we felt unwelcome and embarrassed. The food was lovely but the older waitress was completely out of line.

Been to The Carpenters Arms on many occasions including Birthday parties, always received a warm and happy welcome. The staff are always polite, courteous, diligent and go out of their way to help. Food is always excellent whether itâs Pizza, steak, fish and chips, roast or something from the specials board. Curryâs are delicious and all food homemade. Great selection of ales and gin.

Stayed here for a couple of nights when looking for a base to see friends and visit Padstow. Nestled in the rolling hills it really is in a stunning and peaceful location. We ate an excellent dinner on the first night. The food there is some of the best we ate on our entire holiday! There was a lovely buzzing atmosphere too because it was the pub quiz night! Itâs obviously a very popular spot! We were really well looked after at both breakfasts too! You feel properly at home and like nothing is too much bother! We will definitely be back!So glad you enjoyed your stay with us and your food experience. It seems so different to the what shall I call them, lets be kind- the reviewers, who left the review the day after you. Its as if you came to two different venues! The one you came to is the one we are very proud of and happy to have won awards for our food! see you next time you are in Cornwall.
